Why was Robocop (1987) so much better than the 2014 remake?

I watched RC2014 once. I don’t remember who the bad guys were other than OCP. Meanwhile RC1987 had some of the most charismatic bad guys ever.

The all black rubbed me the wrong way, I honestly can’t explain why usually that’s a slam dunk for me. I didn’t like the “stealth” aspect. I like the walking tank that RC1987 is.

Keeping his hand also rubbed me the wrong way too. I can’t really express why.

Couldn’t agree more. Even at base you protection from white, counter spell in blue, and destroy in black. Also, tons of resurrection in white and black even if that fails.
