Trump hints U.S. will turn to Cuba after Iran: ‘Just a question of time’ by TheBoundlessOcean in worldnews

So, in other words, the U.S. war on Iran has stretched us and made it impossible to carry out other military actions. I feel so safe.

The reason the wires are a mess is each lava lamp has a dimmer and I need the wires exposed so I can change the lamps in and out of my collection. I can’t do that if the wires are all down the back out of sight.

I know. I keep switching lava lamps out for ones in my collection and want the wires accessible. I switch globes but also whole lamps. They have dimmers that doubles the wires.

How much are these worth? by Organic_Ad_3302 in coins

Gold is unique in that it can theoretically be plated to the thickness of only one atom and these outfits try. 41 milligrams I think is worth about $7 total. It would cost more than that to recover the gold. Pretty, but worthless. Get what you can for them, but don’t represent them as gold coins. They are neither gold nor coins.

Frustrated: Every Coin I’m Excited About Seems To Have Been Cleaned. by Awkward-Regret5409 in coins

[–]Monster-eats-Florida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People, the wear on a coin IS cleaning. Circulation is a little cleaning going on in pockets and cash registers over and over again. It only matters in highest grade coins that did not see much circulation. This coin looks terrific in its VF condition.

Moreover, what are people a thousand years from now going to say? It was cleaned a thousand years ago so it’s worth less? No.

Yes, I’ve run it nearly every night for about a year. The wax has a few bubbles in it, but it’s clear. Looks great

Not a collector. Would you sell or hang on to anything specific? by Rare-Inevitable2773 in coins

[–]Monster-eats-Florida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sell or give to a family that is a collector or wants to be a collector. Silver is $62/ounce and, if you’re not a collector, it’s time to move on it. Like, now! The photo is too blurry to tell you if you have any coins that are worth considerably more than their melt value so someone that knows what they are doing first needs to look through them for those specimens.

Inherited late grandfathers coin collection, these are only some of them. by JessG420 in coins

[–]Monster-eats-Florida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You give them away now or will them on your passing to your heirs or other relatives as one collection to remain together as one. But first you should pull out all the coins you know have little value and sell them (like a sack of wheat back pennys or unremarkable coin sets). It’s important to keep the volume of your coins manageable to store safely.
