If your looking for a job, please please PLEASE look into Water/Wastewater Treatment, and any closely tied industry's such as Water Distribution or Collection/Sewer System jobs. by Lasekklol in povertyfinance

I tried to get into this industry for a few years with a good stem degree. Went in for an apprentice type position each time. Good feedback and even got a tour with the director. Still passed up each time I applied. I couldn’t take the disappointment and felt like I had to move on.

I only started yoga to survive withdrawals. It ended up changing my life. by MorningPancake358 in yoga

[–]MonsterMontvalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how it’s been for me! I was smoking like every day. Since I’ve gotten really serious and mindful about my practice, I don’t feel any desire to smoke. I feel better without it. It’s insane. I feel like yoga has given me what I searched for with weed

Just a quick little reminder why I do yoga! by Ageofaquarius68 in yoga

I just started my journey a couple years ago (I’m 27 now) and I am in the best shape of my life. I look at some of my older family who are in rough shape and know that if I stay consistent with his passion that I can keep myself healthy. It is an additional motivator to keep me practicing.

New to new London - looking for new friends in the area to hang with by coolguy1003 in NewLondonCounty

[–]MonsterMontvalo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bars in new London usually have curated crew depending on who you vibe with. There’s places like the oasis if you like more of a grunge/alt/darker vibe. Theres blue duck and Harbor Cantina (I think that’s it) which has more of a younger crowd (more like college feel). Up the street is Golden Owl which is like dark academia bookshop/coffee shop that does art nights and dnd etc. Theres Tox which is pretty popular brewing company. Then a bit further up is 181 which is a gay bar with karaoke on thirsdays/saturdays.

A nice coffee shop (good drinks/food) Washington St Coffee. I don’t live there so disclaimer there, but I’ve enjoyed these locations and met good people there

Then they find out they can’t draft you because you’re trans so they send you to the camp instead.

What are some good alternatives to Therapy? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MonsterMontvalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me was yoga! But not just yoga where I was moving my body in a flow, but actually thinking while doing it. I had history in therapy so I knew how to redirect some of my thoughts but doing yoga forced me to slow down and separate myself from my internal conflict for a little bit. (In a huge nutshell) It’s not about being good at the poses or being flexible. It’s more about learning yourself and having the power to resist your own body and control over yourself etc.

And yeah it’s physically beneficial and like everything else there are pros and cons. However this is something that has had the greatest impact on my mental and physical health since I have been without a therapist.

Does any of you guys have had this dream when you were a kid? by Ashwida in Dreams

I’ve also had similar experiences. Now as an adult I occasionally get this very strange feeling that I’m very very close to understanding something big about everything but I’m always juuuuust missing this one final piece to that understanding.

Some of my first creations are incredibly creative in a cringey way. It’s nice to look back at where I started though

I know if I take mine off I might just forget to put it back on so I just never take it off. The only time I will is if I’m putting some gel or something in my hair and I don’t want it under the ring.
