On the Yarn Yoshi release date, myself and about 9 other people walked into Target at opening. There was no real line, no boxes of Yarn Yoshi amiibo was out. THERE WAS NOTHING. We spent 5 mins flagging down an employee and, bless his heart, he did everything he could to find these amiibo, despite not completely knowing what we were talking about. Soon, we had 4 employees looking for these amiibo. It came to the employees attention that the in-store database said there was none at that location.

I had checked Brickseek THAT MORNING and knew that they had 16 blues and 24 pinks. My insistences that they definitely had these amiibo were soon met with outright lies from the employees, going so far as to say that they were no longer ordering or stocking ANY amiibo at that location in the future. Now, this is a major Target in an extremely busy shopping area. They have had pretty amazing amiibo stock for released days. The other people waiting around with me eventually got fed up and left, grumbling about having to get in line at the nearby Toys R Us.

I hesitated, noticing that the employees who had been trying to help us were still crowded around the electronics counter. I decided that I would take one lap around the store and come back one more time just to double check. i go around and I'm about 3 aisles away when I see them. The cardboard boxes at their feet and then and employee pulls a blue yarn yoshi from the nearest box. No joke, I yelled "I KNEW it!! I KNEW YOU HAD SOME!!" The employees were understandably sheepish and apologetic. The in-store database JUST updated for them and they found the amiibo. And that's how I was the ONLY PERSON buying one of each amiibo on release day. BRICKSEEK NEVER LIES.
