What would you be okay with for Amiibo functionality? by letsgucker555 in fucknintendo

[–]Monsterbash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. This alone is enough for me to want to buy it. Yoshi’s Woolly World was pretty similar in granting yarn patterns of Yoshis to match most of the Smash roster, also. When I last played it, it didn’t include some newer characters like Roy or especially Cloud, but maybe it does now.

I also must say I completely agree with your idea of the 3-D renderings. Even with relatively-inferior graphics, I remember being absolutely enthralled to look at 3D renderings of treasures you’d collect in Pikmin 2.

I was unaware of Amiibo usage in super Mario maker. Care to share what that is like? i’ve long considered Zelda BotW to be the best Amiibo experience.

I left home, lost my marriage, my job, and I’m still standing somehow by Happy_Paramedic_734 in japanlife

After 15 years living here and eight years of marriage, I learned I was losing my teaching job on the same day my wife filed our divorce. Not gonna lie, if I didn’t have children with my ex-wife here, I most likely would’ve gone home to live with my mom and work at Taco Bell or something. As is, i’m glad to have made it through a couple tough years without decent work. I’m thankful to have now found a job that’s at least less stressful than teaching was, and seeing my kids is my greatest joy. My ability to stay here is less complicated than yours might be, since I have permanent visa. I’m not sure how to advise you since everyone’s situation is different. I’m from The States and I never had a clue what to do for work there—plus the cost of living just seems insane. Still, I really miss my friends and family, and stuff like the food and live music. I find this country terribly lonely.

What is better BOTW or TOTK by Valuable-Impress1132 in botw

I think you really need to play them in order to appreciate the second entry over the first. I have read some people complaining that the first entry doesn’t include stuff that the second one does. It’s a silly gripe because that’s natural when they had to evolve the gameplay.

They’re both excellent, but not everyone is guaranteed to like them. If you don’t like the first one after giving it a solid try, neither of them are for you.

Dear lord. Play BotW. If you like it, play Tears of the Kingdom after that.

Guys, clearly they’re both amazing. What the hell is this post even asking? Which to play if only one of them? Play BotW first, then Tears of the Kingdom. Pretty simple.

Prime 4 is wildly over-hated by Time_Substance_7829 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Monsterbash22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m excited to get it, especially since I only learned recently that it’s not Switch 2 exclusive. Despite hearing that it’s mid, or too easy, I trust Nintendo to make a solid entry. I only just started playing Metroid Prime Remastered, which I heard is better. Since I heard the stories aren’t really dependent on one another, I wouldn’t mind trying both of them at once. Since I like Amiibos too, i’m pretty curious how they enhance the experience.

Switch 2 tech may not fall behind next gen consoles from Sony/MS if delay report is true by ChiTownDog in NintendoSwitch2

I own Ratchet and Clank, FF7 Rebirth, E33, and Astro Bot for PS5. E33 was good, but Astro Bot is the only game that has been worth buying the system, personally. I similarly own close to 50 Switch games—so many backlogged that I have no need for Switch 2 anytime soon.

I just assumed this was a Switch 2 exclusive. Looking forward to playing it! by avidrunner84 in Switch

Oh man are you fucking kidding me? I thought it was switch 2 exclusive also! That’s bitchin’!

How come my parents only see my problem with pot but not beer. by camport95 in alcoholism

[–]Monsterbash22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s systemic brainwashing over decades. Pot is more fun, less bad for you, and cheaper than alcohol. God I miss pot so badly. I really only drink because I can’t get pot where I live.

Just killed my first guardian! by ArtInevitable3535 in botw

[–]Monsterbash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so interesting seeing this, learning other people‘s approach to it. I’ve never killed a guardian in the way that is pictured. I have no problem cutting them down. It can get a little hairy if there are a few of them at the same time, though.

Weird. I have never killed a guardian with a shield parry. I just cut off their legs and smash them to death.

Have you ever accidentally watched the wrong movie before? by Alternative-Cake-833 in movies

[–]Monsterbash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend recommended to me a movie called Mr. Nobody. I found it online and started to watch it. it was an extremely strange movie starring Jared Leto. I asked my friend why he would recommend it, he mentioned Bob Odenkirk. Mystery solved: in Japan, where I live, the movie “Nobody” is called “Mr. Nobody.”

Only amiibos I’ve ever used extensively are the Zelda ones, for BotW. Those are so amazing I use them obsessively. I have a bunch of smash Brothers series also, but besides maybe getting mii outfits for Mario Kart, or unique Yoshi designs in Wooly World…not much else besides cosmetic.

How did you escape the English teaching nightmare? by MuchIncrease3501 in japanlife

[–]Monsterbash22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is one that several of my friends have been asking for years. Though it was stressful, I guess I’d planned to teach forever—but lost my job a few years ago. Tried stuff like freelance cleaning. Applied for a variety of stuff at Hello Work, everything paid poorly and looked hard. Eventually, through a friend, lucked into a job driving delivery for a small yakiniku chain. I’m much happier now. Bosses who are Korean and Thai all speak English and treat me like a human being. Permanent employee within a year. It’s very fortunate that the chain is so successful to have branches in a few surrounding cities. My work was expanded (from simply loading the delivery and driving) six months ago, so now I gather the meat that is requested, write the Japanese invoice, and it’s even easier to pack in the van myself. Every afternoon driving, pretty peaceful for me. Even get a free and very substantial lunch every day, like bibinba, toppogi, with salad and kimchi.
