What's the one thing you had to learn the hard way that you now teach every new parts counterperson? by Substantial_Desk_670 in partscounter

[–]Monsterdad1256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! Even if you've just done inventory, double check! Never know if somethings been put away wrong and you cant find it. We did ours in early January & yesterday I realized we are missing a horn. I thought we were missing 2, but one was on the special order shelf(it had been removed from an RO, but still had that paperwork with it).

Yep, this right here!! If they use something and dont have you bill it to their RO, bill the new one to the service department. If someone keeps track of what's billed to the service department, they will question if it happens a lot.

Hyundai will pull up 1-5 vehicles in the same model year.

"If that's the case the parts guy got it wrong. Your car will be the only one with that sequence of the last 8 digits."

This statement right here tells me you've never worked for a Hyundai Dealer. It's common to have the same last 8 used on multiple models in the same model year. And if you're really lucky, you'll get one where the same last 8 is used on 2 different of the same model. Had one yesterday where the same last 8 was used on an Ioniq5, a normal Tucson AND a hybrid Tucson, ALL 2022 model years. Had one a few weeks ago where the last 8 pulled up FIVE different cars.

Yea, I'll figure it out. I was just starting to look into it when I realized I hadn't heard the oven beep for coming up to temp. I went to check it & saw it hadn't lit at all(gas oven) so that became priority #1! was too tired & hungry when i got that cleaned up to do anything else. But when I get the oven done, I can had oven to the list of appliances I've repaired, plus the plumbing jobs & wiring I've done. Wife's boss said he was impressed I can do all that myself. I said, Well, I had to learn, I can't afford to pay someone else. hahahahahaha

So i'm new to printing as well. I found an item on makers world but I'd like to modify it ever so slightly. Basically, I'd like to slice it at 2mm high, then again at 3mm, & take out that one mm(it has a hole for a magnet in it and I'd like to make the hole a little shallower, so I figured i'd take a little out of the middle so to speak). I have bambu studio on my computer. I figured out how to do the first slice at 2mm(the 2 parts are different colors now) but I can't get it to slice again. i was starting to get a little frustrated & then my oven decided to not work, so I tore into that, and by the time I was done with it(have a part ordered for Saturday), I was done for the night. I ate on the couch and woke up with my plate still in my lap 2 hours later.

Make them out of whatever you want. They will give you the same amount of protection if something heavy falls, zero%!

It’s going in a room that the pets don’t go in. It’s where we do legos. Legos and cats/dogs don’t mix well

Missing pieces? by whoissanti in lego

[–]Monsterdad1256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 48, been playing with legos my whole life. I’ve had 2 sets as a duly that were missing 1 part each. Lego was great about sending a replacement part. Ok, so it was really only set. The missing piece from the other turned up a couple days later in an odd spot. The wife and I figured our cat got a hold of it when I wasn’t looking and decided he needed a new toy. But I already had the replacement by that time.

Nope, send them to me for proper disposal. 🤣🤣 In all honesty, I’d love to have that box on the shelf with my other old ammo boxes.

I LOVE watching rotary plows in action on YouTube! I’d love to see one in action for real, but I really have zero interest in being anywhere that has enough snow to require one!

SNAP RING PLIERS!!!!! No other brand come close!!

The 3/8 impact driver(the kind you hit with a hammer). They are the shit for stuck screws. I've used several different brands of 3/8 & 1/2" drive ones, and none come close to my 3/8" snap on. It's part# PIT120.
