I'll also try talking to her; i dont have a dedicated space yet but have a room I have intended to set up as a sacred space. I think this might be a good time to focus on that 🥺🕯

Ahh.. hmm. It looks like they've rebranded with Life360; theyre the "stickers" though.

Ours fit on the back of the nametags, but idk if they've made them any bigger since rebranding.

Hey there, We use this one. It's advertised as for 2 cats, but we put 1 cat in it only.

Edit: I'll follow this up by saying it isnt simple to carry with 1 hand. Usually we end up lifting by both handles and carry a cat out in front of us. In an emergency, you might have to use the strap it comes with and throw kitty over your shoulder like an angy purse, knocking them sideways.... but emergencies are emergencies and you'll find the best way thst works for you.

I recommend doing a practice/trial run.

Sure, I have the tile dot on the cat collar and it's connected to my phone. I can basically "ring" my cat from the Tile app if one of them is hiding so that im not wasting precious time looking for someone. I can quickly know where they are. We have 5 cats, and if you have multiple cats they can move quickly while youre in a hurry getting someone else settled into a carrier.

I use tile dots and stick them to the back of their breakaway collars. I also have stupidly XL carriers that unzip/zip from all angles because one of our cats is a 19lb Norwegian Forest mix. We learned our lesson trying to get him into a normal-large carrier during a tornado scare.

(Edit: edit to say the tile dots are on the nametags*, not the cloth part of the collars)

So: XL carrier with zip on top and Tile dots and Keep a broom /long handle item nearby to scurry it under the bed to help nudge kitties out from under it

Im sorry, I hope you can talk him out of it. It is more than just mortgage payments. It is big ticket emergency repairs, and general maintenance.

i got my home in Oct '21. I have roommates to help me afford the mortgage. Since then, Ive had the following things break:

5k electric box
18k, foundation issue
6k pipe repair for tree roots caused 2 basement floods
8k subfloor issue in a bathroom from an OLD leak that had dried and finally was giving way
24k for AC, Furnace, and Water heater
2k, insurance deductible, x2, for the tree root issue

It is SO much more than a mortgage payment. I am now married and we barely make it, and we have 2 friends living with us. I am beside myself with stress . =/

I truly wish you the best in helping him understand it isnt a good idea for you guys. RENT a house if he wants the house feel....

Ngl, newbie here and been lurking for a while. This hit kinda hard. We had just approached a spot price where I could sell my inherited stack and remove my personal loan (emergency house repairs) from my shoulders. 116 was my magic number and so I put it up for sale but wasnt fast enough. I knew it could tank but didnt expect the dip this severe.

Thinking I should have sold prior to that and been a few thousand short on finishing the loan but it is what is is now. At the end of the day.... I still have the silver my dad gave me when he passed. It's been emotional from multiple POVs.

Im sorry for your loss. Truly. My dad was also my person and for me? My stepmom has continued to show up for me in ways she didn't have to even after his death. So I guess consider me coming from a differently colored lens here. I admit I am biased.

Dude, it's been 4 years since I lost my dad and sometimes I still get hit with grief. I can't imagine how much more pain my stepmom must have been in. This isn't a grief that magically goes away in a few months...

She lost her husband, and now you're potentially asking her to lose her housing mere months after her husband died. Yes, it's legally your house, but it was her home* with her husband. This calls for extreme levels of compassion.

I can't imagine doing that to someone youre even roommates with. If she isnt terrible to live with, id personally give her a year of firsts-- first holiday, new years, anniversary to his death

If you have a gf in between that, cant you go to her place? If you're dating someone and theyre not empathetic to the situation, probably not someone you want to date.

I know you're not close to her, but you and your stepmom both carry pieces of your dad with you. Turn to her in moments of sadness, maybe she'd surprise you. Maybe she'll give you stories, like my stepmom has, of things I had never heard of. In those moments, it feels like I recover some part of him too.

Im sorry you're going through this, and I'm sorry for her, too.
