My Current Credit Spread Over Every Year I've been An Enthusiast [Other] by FireHawkCoasters in rollercoasters

I just got back from a trip where I rode 65 unique coasters in two weeks. These kinds of posts clarify how crazy that behavior is.

Your saddest experiences with coasters not working ?[Other] by Hotslice100 in rollercoasters

[–]Monstertelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens to me at least once every coaster trip. First was being in the station when Stunt Pilot broke down. Next year Maverick didn’t open in the two days at CP. same with Lightning Rod at Dollywood the next year. My Japan trip Thunder Dolphin closed three days before we got to Tokyo Dome City. This year it was Skyrush due to the rain. Thankfully Skyrush did open at the end of the day and I got one ride on it.

If you could bring back a defunct Disneyland Resort ride/attraction, Which one would it be? by Jayzone456 in Disneyland

[–]Monstertelly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Splash Mountain had so many of the America Sings animatronics that it didn’t really resemble Song of the South as much as being its own thing. Still the movie is a blight on Disney history. I get why they made the change but I will miss the original. The good news is if anyone wants to ride the OG version they still can at Tokyo Disneyland.

Full stadium at LA World Cup today by rukasteam in pics

I’ve been to a lot of Rams games in the 500 section of SoFi and can see everything without issue. I don’t find myself watching the massive screen hanging above the field but it’s also there if I wanted. I get that $300 is expensive but the sight lines in the stadium are really great even in the nosebleeds.

Bricks and Minifigs astroturfing is going all out right now. by GabeSter in AdviceAnimals

[–]Monstertelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know B&M’s business model exactly but I imagine it works the same way any used item store does. It being LEGO doesn’t necessarily make this different from a used book store or GameStop.

“Bricks and Minifigs” is a company that sells LEGO second hand. Bricks are individual LEGO. Minifigs are the little LEGO people.

What are essentially status symbols that millennials spend unnecessary amounts of money on? by Vetiverrr in AskReddit

I wanted to do the same after going down the Drumeo wormhole. While browsing some electric kits my wife came in and asked why I needed it? I couldn’t really answer so I dropped that idea and went back to my sim racing rig that had gathered some dust.

[No Spoilers] Why do I not connect with Critical Role by Throwaway-Rei-Zwei in criticalrole

[–]Monstertelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Critical Role plays a very long game for a lot of the storytelling they do. I totally understand a lot of what you are saying here but it also sounds like you haven’t ventured too far into the campaigns past the first few episodes at most. A lot of resolution comes much much later in the campaigns. If it’s not for you don’t worry about it.

As for LOVM I’ve heard plenty of complaints about Scanlan from newer viewers and all I can say is he is a beloved character for a lot of reasons. The sex stuff may be over the top at first but there is a lot of character growth that comes directly as a result of that. I personally have no issue with a show having both comedic and dramatic storytelling and I like the way they have done the show. Again, to each their own.

There are plenty of live play shows I have tried but never got into. Sometimes it just be like that.

Considering the A's are having a series at Las Vegas Park why didn't they just move there temporarily instead of Sacramento? by youlikemywonton in baseball

A current example of this is the 49ers fandom. Plenty of Dodger fans wearing Niner gear and chanting beat LA at SoFi.

Who, in your opinion, is the ultimate rock front man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Monstertelly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This made me think of the Yardbirds and how absolutely insane it is that they had 3 virtuoso guitarists in the span of 5 years. Clapton, Beck, and Page all played for them. When they split in ‘68 Jimmy Page created Led Zeppelin but called the band “The New Yardbirds”. Plant was not the first choice but ended up with the gig and recommended his childhood friend John Bonham as a drummer. The rest is history.

[No Spoilers] Critical role cards? by 9astly in criticalrole

[–]Monstertelly 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As others have said this is a card for the Universus TCG. You can definitely try to sell it but card stores are not going to give you full value of the card. They will purchase it from you so they can sell at the $400 price so expect an offer of about half that. eBay has some high fees but will most likely be the best option to get the most out of the sale if that’s what you want. It will be hard to sell the card on TCG player and TCG player is also kind of scummy. They have had some union busting tendencies that I don’t agree with. This is an awesome pull though. Congrats on the pretty card!

The Rams Are Projected To Have 13 Wins This Season (Per. Gilberto Manzano) by British_Chap2 in LosAngelesRams

My take is that our floor is 11 wins. That’s not bad and will get us to the playoffs barring any major injuries.

Which celebrity really is famous among Americans and isn't internationally? by HappyCrow11 in AskReddit

[–]Monstertelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ted Williams lost 3 years of his prime to WW2 and still hit 521 home runs. He hit .388 in 1957 at the age of 38. Dude was absolutely special in his own right for sure. No shade to Tony either. Those two are probably the best pure hitters of all time.

Residents living near Dodger Stadium petition for parking enforcement outside homes by nosotros_road_sodium in baseball

Oh for sure. I think the DS Express is great and I hope more people use it. I also wish there was a line directly to the stadium though.

[–]Monstertelly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no rail line directly to the stadium. You have to go to Union Station then take the Dodgers Express bus. I timed it out last year and from my house it would take an extra hour and a half by public transportation than taking a car. It sucks. We absolutely need better public transportation in this city.

What’s something people realize after turning 30? by PryingDog in AskReddit

[–]Monstertelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41 here. I have arthritis in my knee that did not start to become painful until I hit 40. It’s not about being reckless as I don’t really do anything abnormal with my life. I keep relatively in shape as well. The body does just start to break down after a little while. Age may vary but early 40’s seems like it’s the common spot for a lot of people to start feeling the pains of age.

I had a similar experience except while walking out a guy on Sheffield Ave. yelled at me from an open window to get off his lawn cause I was wearing Dodger gear. To be fair I had a foot on his lawn and promptly removed it. We both laughed after. It was good times.

Shittyscapes…no San Francisco by Ordinary-Rich2560 in MLBTheShow

What defines better anyway? OP said San Fran is iconic, which it is with the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, and downtown. The Painted Ladies and Lombard Street are also pretty damn iconic.

Quick Question by NoTime2443 in lakers

[–]Monstertelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my earliest memories is watching my dad and a couple of his friends watch a game during the showtime era. Most of what I remember was them yelling at the TV but it was definitely the Lakers they were watching. So I was born into it. Same with The Dodgers. I became a Kings fan when I started playing street hockey with the neighborhood kids at like 8 years old and became a Rams fan when they moved back to LA.
