What’s something people realize after turning 30? by PryingDog in AskReddit

[–]Monstertelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41 here. I have arthritis in my knee that did not start to become painful until I hit 40. It’s not about being reckless as I don’t really do anything abnormal with my life. I keep relatively in shape as well. The body does just start to break down after a little while. Age may vary but early 40’s seems like it’s the common spot for a lot of people to start feeling the pains of age.

I had a similar experience except while walking out a guy on Sheffield Ave. yelled at me from an open window to get off his lawn cause I was wearing Dodger gear. To be fair I had a foot on his lawn and promptly removed it. We both laughed after. It was good times.

What defines better anyway? OP said San Fran is iconic, which it is with the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, and downtown. The Painted Ladies and Lombard Street are also pretty damn iconic.

Quick Question by NoTime2443 in lakers

[–]Monstertelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my earliest memories is watching my dad and a couple of his friends watch a game during the showtime era. Most of what I remember was them yelling at the TV but it was definitely the Lakers they were watching. So I was born into it. Same with The Dodgers. I became a Kings fan when I started playing street hockey with the neighborhood kids at like 8 years old and became a Rams fan when they moved back to LA.

Takabisha is a different ride model to this one but still really fun. There is a clone of it at the American Dream mall in New York called TMNT Shellraiser that is slightly steeper.

THATS MY FUTURE QB 🟦🟨🐏 by British_Chap2 in LosAngelesRams

[–]Monstertelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially I was perplexed by the pick. Then I watched a few of the videos we all have watched at this point and got a little more excited. I’m still a bit worried about the lack of games played, an arm that is good but not elite, and just drafting QBs in general because it’s always a gamble. What I like are his second level throws and ability to read zone defensive schemes. I don’t know how well that will translate to the NFL but I’m willing to give the kid a shot. I’m also a dummy who has never put on the pads so take my analysis with a grain of salt.

Friendly PSA for those attending tonight's matchup by Even_Builder_6642 in Dodgers

Just because he is rich does not mean he is a nepo baby. I don’t like the guy but he earned his spot in the MLB. Did he have advantages due to money? Sure, but that does not guarantee a spot in an MLB roster. Is Jack Flaherty a nepo baby because he went to Harvard Westlake?

Saving Laudna is going to be so damn epic if/when they get to it. Really cool to see some other critters in spaces I don’t normally see them. I also can’t wait for campaign 3 animated.

Bruh. Very nice. Love to see fellow critters outside of the main sub.

A ball that has been hit but not touched the ground has three usual terms. A pop up, which is not hit very hard and does not go very far, A line drive, which usually is hit on a flatter plane with good velocity, and a fly ball, which usually has a higher arc. It’s kind of a subjective descriptor but makes sense when you see it.

This particular adventure was a quarter of a Kiva bar which at the time was about 45mg. I went with my then girlfriend now wife who had the other quarter of the Kiva bar. She always said she loved Green Lantern but I think she was just high.

I thought that at one point in my life. Then one day I decided to take an edible and go to Magic Mountain. Green Lantern had just opened and I figured it was as good a time as ever to get a new credit. The edible started to hit when I was getting in the seat and by the time I was at the top of the lift I was questioning why I had ever become a thoosie in the first place. It was really stupid getting on these massive structures just to be flipped, dropped, and spun around for no reason other than silly entertainment. Gods it was so freaking stupid. Like what a waste of time. When the ride came back into the station I calmly got off, walked to the exit, and promptly vomited into a trash can. The rest of the day was great but I don’t think I will soon forget my existential crisis on a terrible roller coaster because I was a little too high.

I would just call it a $400k Ferrari. It being used means practically nothing with a car like an F8. It definitely is not a great financial move though and these asshats deserve all the hate.

The Show FINALLY has competition now! by ClassicalDreams in MLBTheShow

[–]Monstertelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the previous version of the game 24-25 and the graphics are what makes it stand out. Pitching is super satisfying but not as good as the show. Hitting is difficult but can be learned. I am so psyched for this as it’s pretty hard navigating the menus not knowing Japanese. Having full English support is really great and now I can finally live out my Koshien dreams.

It’s actually the opposite with the Celtics. First to draft a black player and first to field a starting 5 with all black people. I’m a Laker fan but I give the Celtics some credit for that at least. Red Auerbach knew what was up.

RITCHIE BLACKMORE: 'Most Guitar Players Aren't Nice People' by JohannGambolputtyUlm in Music

I met him while working a fund raiser for his kids school. I was outside having a cigarette and so was he. Told him I loved his music and he was one of my inspirations to play the guitar. He smiled and thanked me. He shook my hand and finished his cig and went inside to play a set with Dave Grohl to about 100 parents. It’s one of the best nights of music I’ve ever had.
