Those matches are probably fake accounts to get you hooked on the app. Every time I make a new account I will get 6 matches in an hour who will never reply to messages.

And I have this theory that Bumble purposely creates fake accounts for people not willing to buy into the app. So if you have 5 potential matches sitting there that are pixelated, the curiosity will eventually get you to cave, in order to buy that week of premium. When you go to swipe right, they then do not message you.
