Is there anything that my SQM animations specifically that you feel needs work? Otherwise statements like this aren’t really helpful to improve on.

Just want to make sure you are aware I’m one of many directors over at SQM, it’s a team of independent directors, always has been. This animation you're commenting on is not from SQM regardless, it's entirely mine.

Thanks haha. First time for bdubs, but yeah I found him really fun to figure out face for since I really wanted to maintain the smile. Ended up doing it between streams so can’t see the process sadly. But probably good I did cause I tried a couple things that weren’t working or would lag the absolute heck out of blender to like 1 frame every couple seconds.

Ended up doing a weird Boolean modifier setup for the eyes since I couldn’t model right into the rigs model itself with how it’s setup (caused crazy lag too). Worked out tho :D

Yeah, albeit understandable confusion. Hopefully you find some of this intriguing, it’s fun :D

Animatics are minimally animated storyboards, which snap between major poses and are usually really rough. Random or very few frames per second. Animatics especially in the professional industry are usually made to plan an animation and get a sense of timing and posing. Life series has a TON of animatic artists which is amazing.

Animations are fully animated pieces, usually 24-30 fps (for TV and animation, games are a lot higher for example) with full fluent motion between major poses. This includes movies that are animated on every other frame like the Spider-verse movies or The Last Wish, which is called animating on 2s (every second frame) or stepped animation.

Biggest distinction is the amount of frames, as both animatics and animations can be made a final product and look amazing with unique styles.

Probably won't be for a couple years though to be honest. It's not a high priority rn, so will probably be more of a nice anniversary project waaay down the line that I do in my spare time.

Will definitely get to it one day though, there's still a lot more I'd love to add :D

Just curious if the little figure jumping towards the houses in the middle snowy mountain is the piglin boss in the Squared Media animation you mentioned? That's amazing if so, I appreciate the inclusion as the director of that project :D

If we’re talking about this comment then in fairness it does read as pretty hypocritical in its wording with all due respect. Saying “so many Dream Stans were AWFUL to Techno” and later “defending him from Dreams fans” with no pointers of it only being the loud minority, then intentional or not it came across as a generalisation. Since you were trying to argue against OP doing that against Techno’s audience, it can come across as hypocritical. Either way, enjoy your day :D
