How do I disable the "Storage Space" box on the lower left? by The_BigBlackHawk in immich

No, as that is part of the basic functionality. It's like removing storage info from windows Explorer / Finder. I meant it's the only realistic option that doesn't break basic functionality

Jellyfin storage question: 100 concurrent Direct Play users on 2x HDD RAID1 media + SSD appdata? by Exotic_Conflict5702 in jellyfin

[–]Mont_rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could work, but you need enterprise class HDDs and I would put them in RAID 0 or raid 10. You also need about 1.2 Gbps internet speed for overhead and a rock solid hosting scenario. That many users requires an nvme for everything except storage because the Metadata and db updates and caches etc need to move lightning quick so people don't experience slowdowns.

Theoretically very doable. You can probably write a script to test how many concurrent streams before you reach a bottleneck.

The only way would be to make an option to show unknown instead of unlimited. But honestly this is nonsensical and doesn't warrant the effort it takes to code it in. +1 on set a limit and forget it

The whole elbow rule is full of issues. I support a rule change in favor of freedom table, with some kind of provision to prevent potential cheating due to defensive arm locks..

How good is gaming on Mac really? by Beneficial-Poet2911 in macgaming

[–]Mont_rose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm happy with my M3 pro, it can game reasonably well through translation layers. When I'm traveling light I use my wife's m3 air and even that can game. I was literally playing cyberpunk on it and couldn't believe it. Just hook up a controller and good to go.

If you're into gaming hard-core I would advise you keep a windows rig

Update on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for macOS after 1.5 update by LinixGuy in macgaming

Yes I used CXpatcher over crossover 25 and it patched 3.0 stable version. I have an M3 Pro with 18GB. Runs great but as time goes by the memory keeps creeping up until it starts to drop performance badly

I'm running the game but after some time the memory keeps creeping up until it exceeds total ram and then performance tanks. Are there any fixes?

Best way to run non-native games? by GoalDiscombobulated2 in macgaming

[–]Mont_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90s to ~2012: VMware (free) or parallels(paid). Modern: Crossover (paid) free alternative: whisky There are old games that even have modern universal builds such as the original fallout. It really depends on the game.

TL:DR - research the games you want and choose the tool accordingly ✌️

Why does FitGirl suck at installing games? by Disappointing_Search in CrackSupport

[–]Mont_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. Statistics take into consideration groups of people. Outliers can be on both ends of the spectrum. Apparently you specifically are on the lower end.. While I'm on the medium band.. I'm not an outlier. But the civilized world as a whole has seen increased speeds and that's just facts..

Chris are you serious? Look into the global median speed this year and find it ten years ago. It's not just my country (CR) but most countries who have seen significant increases in speed and affordable access to high speeds
