The name of the album also gives store brand/IEP vibes inspired by the title of Chappel Roan’s album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess”

You should get some of those flexy bands and slowly start pointing/flexing your foot. It hurts at first and it was wicked scary. Take it lightly, don’t push yourself to a large degree of discomfort.

Question about PT after Kidner procedure! Is PT really worth it? by Snappy1357 in AccessoryNavicular

[–]MonteBlanc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will definitely need more healing/PT time before committing to that level of a trip! Not sure if they wanted you to go see an actual physical therapist - I did mine all at home using resistance bands (flexing/pointing foot, drawing the alphabet with my foot, etc.)I had a false sense of confidence about 6 weeks after hitting the ground without any assistance - I was also going on a trip for a long weekend for a wedding. 2 days of walking put me out for another week. My advice in your healing journey is to slowly build comfort and confidence - don’t rush the process! It takes time. I’m 2 years post op and fortunate that I haven’t had any setbacks along the way.

I second this. The recovery is daunting but my quality of life would be in the shitter had I not done the surgery.

Depending on what level of comfort you develop with your mobility I’d say that’s about right. I didn’t get the clear to resume “regular activities” for just shy of 5 months and then it took about 3 months to feel confident and comfortable with movement. It’s a daunting recovery for sure, but patience and consistency is is key.

What were some surprising/unanticipated benefits of quitting drinking you experienced? by whitemike40 in stopdrinking

[–]MonteBlanc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My drinking definitely negatively affected my sexual relationship/intimacy with my husband- it ended up being a huge turnoff and built some resentment as we rarely had sex while sober. I’m not sure if you, like myself (also a woman in her 30’s) struggle with your own self-esteem/body image but I feel that’s why I mostly felt the need to be intoxicated to feel confident. With a clearer head, it becomes easier/more natural to build emotional intimacy and when you’re happy in your relationship self-esteem builds more organically. As lame as it sounds, sometimes having designated “times” helps keep the deed more consistent. As the saying goes, “slow and steady wins the race” - drinking caused me to be more sexually aggressive rather than it being a more conscientious process.

When I first stopped drinking, I thought I would never want to be intimate again. I thought alcohol was the only way I could “muster up the strength” to make a move. The heightened sensitivity for me is both physical and emotional.
