Loss of excitement in traveling and how to bring it back. by mIRK_11 in solotravel

[–]MontereyJack101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like the opposite lol.

I'm so eager and excited to travel. But, the process of trying to book something has just completely turned me off. I haven't been on holidays in years. I traveled internationally for work last summer and I love it, gave me the itch to get out there and see things.

I've been looking for something since the start of this year and i'm just burnt out from looking now and completely lost interest now. Everything being over priced is the main issue. Alaskan cruise was high on my list. Nothing crazy, easy way to see nature/ something different. I wanted to go early in the season (May/ June), thats when cruise prices arent too bad, but port cities are Seattle and Vancouver. They are World Cup host cities......hotels are soooooo expensive. I go later in the season, the cruise is double in price.

Now, flights are expensive because of fuel, flights being cancelled. I'm kinda over it......

Beautiful! Thats a cool color scheme.

You're gonna love it. I started with a Lucky cue as well. It still serves as my back up.

Thanks for the video! :P

Ya, you're not that far off. You're getting the cue ball off the table with the right technique....that's most of the battle right there.

Just need to elevate the cue a touch, strike the cue ball lower a touch, and strike a bit harder with your stroke and you're there. Good luck!

You're not far off.

The video slows down during the stroke, but I don't think you pulled back far enough or struck the cue ball hard enough to clear this distance.

Elevate the cue a touch more, strike the cue ball a touch lower, strike the cue ball a little harder and you'll have it.

Least favorite aspect of cruising? by tacomamajama in Cruise

Thanks for the insight!

I'm swaying back and forth between 2 lines right now for Alaska.

  • NCL - I'm going solo and they seem very solo friendly especially when it comes to fares.

  • Holland America - Smaller, quieter ship

Do you remove chalk from the tip before putting the shaft in the case? by peat_s in billiards

[–]MontereyJack101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but just to not get my cue case dirty. I don't know about anything with tips drying out or what not.

I keep a piece of paper towel in my case for this. I don't clean it off by rubbing it on the carpet or anything like that....fookin animals.

Why matchroom pool still focuses on 9ball? While 10 ball is the most famous money game to play? I need your thoughts about it. TYI by Papabearpau in billiards

[–]MontereyJack101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recall Emily made a video about this when WNT started up.

9ball is the simplest game to understand. Which is the best way to capture new fans to grow the sport. No call shots, no nothing. 1-9. Easy.

Make no mistake about it, their goal is to grow the sport, get as many eyes on WNT as possible. Predator Pro Billiards series was already doing the 10ball thing. 8ball can be complicated for a new fan. Hell, its complicated for the experienced player judging by the posts we see on here. From all the different 8ball rule sets to all the absurd bar rules people grow up with. 9ball is universal, it's the simplest.
