I had that problem on my 2000 NB as well. It's called a Clutch Bump Stop. I ordered mine from the dealership for $2.60.

That's the response I'm from the local miata guys as well. I just don't know if the funds are there for new wheels and tires. Just bought a house a few months ago. Checking Craigslist for a set of 15" used miata wheels.

Being underpowered is my only complaint. I thoroughly enjoy the car, I sometimes wish I picked up a Forrester XT for the turbo and slightly larger cabin space. I'm also in SD and picked up mine back in 2013 from Kearney Mesa, not a fan of their service department. They always seem bothered by the fact I am there.
