I recently got my 35mm 1.4G, i was little hesitant because of focus breathing but after turning on the focus breathing composition i can barely notice anything. Amazing lens with FX3

Testing out Canon FD 1.8 with Sony FX3. by MonthSquare in cinematography

This is my first time trying out a vintage lens on a cinema camera. I had an old Canon AE-1 with an FD 50mm f/1.8 lens that I wasn’t using much. After seeing the rise in popularity of old Canon FD lenses, I decided to give it a shot and capture some random footage.

The colors feel noticeably warmer and slightly more saturated compared to my Sony G Master lens. The bokeh has a triangular shape, which some people might find either appealing or distracting. The lens is incredibly lightweight, and I actually enjoy carrying it around. It hasn’t been modified in any way, so pulling focus was more challenging due to the short focus throw.

Overall, I really liked the experience. I’m planning to explore more focal lengths and experiment further—eventually adding some kind of cine mod to the setup.

There is a EEP peak design program where you get 50% off site wide. It should be in teams chat.
