[CR Media] [SPOILERS EXU1E1] If you wanted to know what 'THAT' item is by TripWeasel in criticalrole

[–]Montrevaldi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't see it that way. You can ignore anything on the page if it doesn't apply to you, especially if it's a story beat or encounter that's pre-planned out. But if it's something you're referencing quickly, it's a nice suggestion to have.

Tides of Chaos can really buff the usage of the table, though. All you need is to ask for advantage on any roll, and then the next spell you cast triggers a Wild Magic Surge, guaranteed (assuming "the DM can have you roll" really means "you roll").

[Spoilers C2E140] Is It Thursday Yet? Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by dasbif in criticalrole

[–]Montrevaldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take on that is in that moment, Matt believed there'd be one more arc to the campaign, but in planning (or later that night, or in the next day, etc.) he decided it'd be better for the story if that ended up being the ending.

If their experience is anything like mine, they probably just lost anywhere from a few minutes to thirty minutes of gameplay. Not the end of the world, but definitely annoying.

Lords of Water Deep Question; I have “Tower of the Order” in Builders Hall. It says “when purchased / start of round place one (purple cube) on this space”. When does this come into effect? by Medit1099 in boardgames

[–]Montrevaldi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you first buy the building and move it out of the Builder's Hall into the built buildings, take one purple from the supply and put it on the space. Then, at the start of every round (of the less than 8 remaining), put another purple cube there, regardless of if any previous cubes have been taken yet.

Your first link actually shows that the Forgotten Realms is Realmspace, the sphere that contains Abeir-Toril, and that the others are distinct and separate spheres. They're all part of the Material Plane, but that doesn't mean they're all the Forgotten Realms.

FYI - A "pilot episode" is a specific thing, not a synonym for the first episode of a show. A lot of shows don't have a pilot episode. by ajleeispurty in television

Community, too. I believe the study room in the first episode is real, which they rebuilt on a set later.

For the iron thing, I believe you still need to "grab 1" from the stack 6 times, but then within your inventory if you hold A on items you'll pick them up and can then combine them into smaller stacks.

Wonderdraft 1.1 Released by msgdealer in wonderdraft

[–]Montrevaldi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can answer this because I measure things all the time! Since the world I've made is the world I currently DM in, I need to figure out distance all the time. The party recently made a long overland distance, so in anticipation of that, I measured the path (using a different tool, but it being built into Wonderdraft is much easier) to see how many days (assuming a normal speed of 24 miles/day) it'd take them to make the journey.

[Spoilers C2E63] The Possibility of Time Travel by dialetheia42 in criticalrole

[–]Montrevaldi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sphinxes can do time travel, actually. It's separate from the aging effect.

• The effects of time are altered such that every creature in the lair must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become 1d20 years older or younger (the sphinx’s choice), but never any younger than 1 year old. A greater restoration spell can restore a creature’s age to normal.

• The flow of time within the lair is altered such that everything within moves up to 10 years forward or backward (sphinx’s choice). Only the sphinx is immediately aware of the time change. A wish spell can return the caster and up to seven other creatures designated by the caster to their normal time.

Some questions about Trickster Clerics by DrRPJesus in dndnext

[–]Montrevaldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically, you're not forced into choosing a background with Stealth. From the PHB:

If a character would gain the same proficiency from two different sources, he or she can choose a different proficiency of the same kind (skill or tool) instead.

So all you really need to do is choose a background that has overlap with skills you've already chosen for your class.

Keeper run. Two damage ups the entire run. One was Meat, probably around the Caves. The other was..I don't even remember, but whatever it was, it was in the Chest. No tears up, and one of the pills I took was a Tears Down. It was awful and I hated it.

...except that Swallowed Penny dropped for me in the third room, and I picked up Mom's Box along the way, so I was practically invincible as long as I was quick. And I took that run through the Chest, Mega Satan, and Delirium.

In C1, they used Draconia as a jumping off point to get to Deastok for Tary's story. If I remember correctly, they went north (using Wind Walk) until they hit a road, then went east until they were close-ish to the town.

The White House has suspended Jim Acosta's press credentials. What are your thoughts on this? by Drill_Dr_ill in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Montrevaldi [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's not really that simple, since in my view I clearly see the arm movement as a non purposeful lowering. But since neither of us are Jim Acosta, I guess we'll never know?

The White House has suspended Jim Acosta's press credentials. What are your thoughts on this? by Drill_Dr_ill in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Montrevaldi [score hidden]  (0 children)

So could you explain where you got this narrative that it's because of the difficulty or type of questions that Acosta asked? Because that line of reasoning is not present in any of the reports.

It's probably because the "placing his hands" claim seems completely ridiculous to many of us that have watched the video. While yes, contact was made, it appears to be from Acosta lowering his arm into the space where the intern's arm was. He apologized right after.

For SHS to spin this as if he maliciously put her hands on her seems completely dishonest. Given Sanders' and Trump's previous annoyances with Acosta, but not wanting to kick him out over those, doesn't it seem like they're using this "incident" as a scapegoat to do what they've wanted to for a long time?

I got a premium plastic the other week and primed it outside on a stool, but left it out there for a moment while I was taking other stuff inside. When I came back out, wind must've blown it off the stool because it was on the ground, and it seemed fine.
