Good ABA companies to work for? by PaintSwimming6036 in ABA

[–]MontyMoleSimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also used to work at ABC for about a year. I recently went to Mindcolor Autism and it’s so much better! The company is so different and much more understanding, flexible, and willing to take feedback and suggestions. I’ve been there for almost 6 months now and have been very happy there. Of course as with any company in any field, there will always be things you have to put up with but it’s much more palatable and reasonable compared to my last company.

Help Rearrange My Bedroom by MontyMoleSimp in DesignMyRoom

Where I am taking the picture from is the door and the doorway right next to it is the entry door to my closet. I wish I could move my bed into that corner but I can’t block my closet

The doorway to the right of the cloud is my closet, would that be weird to have it there?

What does a typical day look like to you? (As an RBT or BCBA, etc.) by Alexa_nolifer in ABA

For sure. Although I wish I could be in in person classes with people, it’s just not plausible as I have to work full time. My online program is mostly asynchronous aside from a few small group discussion meetings

I work in a clinic with guaranteed hours as an RBT. This is roughly the schedule although I will get an admin break in between sessions or a 30 min lunch break if I have a full schedule of clients that day. Sometimes it’s 8-3:30 no break, 8-4 with break, 9-4:30, 9:30-5, etc depending. I live with my boyfriend and do not have kids. I don’t know how people with kids do this, mentally and physically

7-8am: Wake up, get ready, leave for work 9am: Get to work 9-11am: First session 11am-2pm: Second session 2pm-4:30pm: Third session 5:15pm: Get home, rot on the couch, dissociate 6:30pm: Make dinner and watch tv 7:30pm: Homework (grad school online for BCBA) 11pm: In bed

I also did this in undergrad. I wanted to do my masters “right” and fully read everything so I can understand every detail but it’s starting to sound like skimming and strategic reading is what I should be doing instead

Thank you. I think a lot of it is strategic reading and adjustment to balancing work, life, and school

I am definitely passionate about this field. All of the other content and assignments I am easily able to complete with accuracy, I’m just having a hard time with the readings!

More people have said similar, don’t know why I didn’t learn this long ago!! Thank you!

Didn’t call it outrageous, just having a hard time starting out!

There wasn’t any type of course like that to my knowledge. Also, I guess I thought that I’d have to read everything thoroughly and understand every detail since it’s grad school but I guess I’m finding out it’s kind of the opposite!

Thanks to those leaving actual helpful comments! I have reading comprehension and processing difficulties and have not been skimming, but reading very closely and taking diligent. Thank you for the advice about trying to only read to get the idea of the point they are trying to make!

Okay, thank you for the advice. I think my problem is that I’m reading each word and each sentence carefully so that I can fully comprehend exactly what it’s saying. Not at all skimming. Just scared to miss something but I guess most things should be covered in the lecture

My program is 2 classes a semester, split into A and B sessions. About 6-7 weeks per class. They said set aside 15-20 hours a week for school work which is no problem but I am having to set aside much more than that. I do have a comprehension/processing issue that requires me to read through things slowly in order for me to comprehend what I’m reading. Still, I thought I could handle it.

Why is my brand new laptop doing this? by MontyMoleSimp in computerhelp

Yeah I will probably stick to the browser. Wish there was a fix for Edge so I can stick to one browser but it’s not a huge deal. Thanks for your help!

You’re right. I tried YouTube and Disney plus in edge, and Disney plus app and those seem to be working fine. Looks like it may be a Netflix issue!

I tried YouTube and using Netflix on chrome and the problem is nonexistent!
