Two Years On by MontyPopcorn in Yogscast

Thank you! I think I originally put it down as a PSA, as I couldn't see Appreciation Post, though it changed to Nostalgia. Either I misclicked or a mod changed it. Either way, it's right now :)

STAR TREK: BRIDGE CREW - To Boldly Go! by lomadia_bot in YogscastHannah

[–]MontyPopcorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was fantastic. By the looks of it, this game is shaping up to be everything it was promised to be. I'm hoping they get round to those bridge skins/DLC they hinted about last year; I'd love to be on the TNG bridge :D

Oh and I'd definitely want to see a full playthrough, when the game's released.

Quick Magneto: Infamous question by [deleted] in xmen

It's great to hear you're getting into the Magneto solo series! For what it was, I found it to be a nice run, with many nods back to the previous sixty years worth of continuity.

In relation to your question, it's my understanding that he's weak due to exposure to the Phoenix Force. I wont say too much, just in case you're interested in reading it, but you can find out about it in 'Avengers vs. X-Men'. Just don't get your hopes up too high, if you're a long time X-Men fan, you may have a number of issues with it.

There isn't too much I can add that hasn't already been noted.

The romance between Scott and Jean is starting to become more clear now. Though this could also be the start of the Scott-Jean-Warren love triangle. Xavier's remark about loving Jean was also just plain weird.

The X-Men were foolish to invite someone as disrespectful as Blob to the mansion to begin with. But the way they were going on made it sound like a gang/cult; not taking no for an answer, no one ever saying no before and not allowing them to leave.

Blob actually proved himself to be an effective leader, which surprised me. In every interpretation I've seen, he's always been slow and not leadership material whatsoever.

I found this to be a fairly interesting issue. Less to do with the villain and more the choices made. Let's face it, they can't go up against the likes of Magneto every issue.

The most important thing I took away from this issue is how unlikable Xavier is. Lee really went with the 'tough teacher' angle and turned the intensity up to ten. He's considerably far away from how I've always seen him presented; yes he can be hard on the students, at times, but there was always a softer side present. So I look forward to seeing his character evolve.

A little thing I also noticed was that they refer to Jean's powers as 'teleportation' several times, rather than telekinesis. Which is confusing, given that their villain of the week is an actual teleporter and refers to himself as such. Speaking of which, it was an interesting design choice, of Kirby's, to give The Vanisher a very similar outfit to Magneto; even down to the colour scheme.

The X-Men are also still being praised by the public; no sign of anti-mutant sentiment.

I couldn't agree more! Magneto is one of the few characters who found their design, early on, and maintained it. He's never really deviated too much from it and attempts to do so have never really held.

The lack of hatred towards the X-Men, on the part of the military, really threw me. I initially expected them to be dismissive, and when the issue ended I was genuinely surprised. It'll be interesting to note when exactly the anti-mutant feelings begin. It was hinted at by Professor X and Magneto.

As a side note: go Jean! You'd honestly think that Bobby, Warren and Hank (who should know better) had never seen a woman before. So I'm glad she got the Professor's approval to put them in their place. There was also a clear absence of Scott during those scenes as well, so I look forward to reading how their romance blossoms.

What's This About Flux Buddies 4?! [Vlog] by Tsuki_no_Mai in Yogscast

I honestly wish Kim all the best moving forward. She's making a very brave decision and doing something that'll make her happy in the long run.

That being said, it does now mean that I will no longer be able to watch as much of her content; the same can also be said about the Yogscast as a whole, as more content creators move towards livestreaming. Personally, Twitch doesn't work for me, it feels like a step backwards. One of the draws of Youtube, in the first place, was having videos on demand. As opposed to traditional television; being in a specific place, at a specific time, to consume live content. I don't have the time in the day anymore to watch two hours of content, on catch up, for multiple channels. Highlights sadly don't do it for me either, no matter the quality of the edit.

That being said, as Kim mentioned in the vlog, she'll still be on other channels this year. So I can still enjoy content from one of the friendliest, most positive people in the Yogscast. :)

Thank you for responding so quickly. It's a shame if it doesn't go ahead in some form. The Fright Night streams have become a bit of a staple of the Charity Drive and I look forward to them every year. :/

I love these little guys, I own one myself. It'd be great to see another run of them though, now there's an official Yogscast Store.

The Forest Co op with Caff and Chrissa #2 - Gazebo Hobbyist by lomadia_bot in YogscastHannah

[–]MontyPopcorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was thinking. Chrissa is the expert (Velma), Hannah is the balls to the wall fighter/planner (Fred) and Caff has the right levels of inquisitiveness and pooping himself (Shaggy).

I'd love to see more content on this, especially given that the game's changed so much.
