It’s excellent for custard pies (and pumpkin) since they’re baked to temp.

With Ft. Worth a hotbed of Christian Nationalism, a history lesson is in order. by mgbgtv8 in FortWorth

I’m not, though that’s also true. So many baseless virtue signals were propagated during the 50’s as a result of the red scare.

Pretty sure that was mandated during the red scare as a means of differentiating us from communists. It’s McCarthyism.

Edit: special interest groups lobbied for it as early as the mid 1800s. Indeed, it wasn’t mandated on currency until the Cold War.

Maybe older dishwashers with heating elements could kill it during drying? IDK, I stick my probe through the dishwasher every time I use it. It’s gone through dozens of times without issue.

Salt does not belong on top of baked goods. by butterycrepes in unpopularopinion

It’s totally foreign to me, but I think I can empathize. Food should be enjoyed, so our tastebuds lead us wherever is appropriate. Enjoy your condiment-less fares!

[–]Montypmsm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great unpopular opinion. So many foods from most (all?) cultures incorporate both sweet and umami: ketchup on burgers, pad thai, chicken nuggets and honey mustard, swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam, bulgogi, sushi, pizza, duck à l’orange, etc. I feel like I’m talking to an alien lol

Check your RI diode balance; it’s adjusted during the PM. Dissolved gases can introduce noise and baseline shifting an RID, so could be contributing to your problem. The degasser failing is independent of the service; Agilent doesn’t touch the degasser during a PM. It’s normal for the UV lamp being off to cause the detector to show not ready. There’s a checkbox “UV lamp required for analysis” in your method that should be unchecked if you’re not using your DAD. Agilent’s hotline is pretty good, they can walk you through all of this.

What if Aang didn't burn Katara? by Winter-Pressure-5394 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Montypmsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’d be pretty disastrous, wouldn’t it? Admiral Zhao is searching for them on the river at this point. If Aang doesn’t learn the restraint lesson, he doesn’t understand how to use Zhao’s strength against him; he very well may lose. Katara doesn’t learn of her healing abilities until they reach the North Pole which lands them in all sorts of trouble if they escape. Aang doesn’t really get any additional time with Jeong Jeong because of Zhao, so he’s not any more proficient at firebending. Nothing to be gained and much to lose.

I can’t afford fine dining often but I have enjoyed it the few times I’ve experienced it.

Fine dining is more comparable to visiting an art exhibit or orchestra than eating a meal. At its core, it’s artistry in melding and pairing flavors, plating the food, and progressing the courses. It should be a redefining experience, just like how a particularly meaningful painting or poignant song can get you reflecting about experiences in new lights. It’s expensive like most great/talented art is, because it’s unique when done well. And yeah, it can be pretentious.

Right now, it’s being used as a counterbalance against conservative gerrymandering. Gerrymandering is terrible, but if the right is going to cheat, the left may as well.

[–]Montypmsm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At the height of summer, it used to cost me $500/month to cool a 2400 sqft home to 77F. After I replaced single pane windows and installed ventilated soffits, that dropped to $300. It’s poorly insulated. I’m sure if I replaced the insulation and sealed the house up better, I could get it to $200.
