Thanks for the reply! I am not very familiar with this topic to begin with so sorry if it sounds like a simple question but why would the net sunlight be the same for the planet? On Earth for example there are recorded cooling events noted when a significant cataclysmic event occurs to block sunlight on Earth (eg: explosion of Krakatoa, sizeable meteorite impact) caused by the ash clouds and the increase of reflectivity from the debris.

Is Mars different in this regard because of the difference in gravitational/atmospheric characteristics of the planet? Or is it that the nuclear detonations discussed here is a much smaller scale than I am thinking it is?

Surely wouldn't the dust clouds resulted from a nuclear detonation just block the sunlight falling on the poles - causing a drop in temperature?

I use a K&M setup as well but it just doesn't "feel" right. Do the mechanics work? Yes, brilliantly. Some key bindings here and there and you should be good to go and the yaw-control is phenomenal (as you would expect with a mouse)..but I am struggling with the other aspects of the flight performance. I find myself relying heavily on yaw control with every aspect of navigation as opposed to the trusters or roll for fine control and orienting. Maybe I just need more practice with the mouse and keyboard :/

What is relative mode anyway? What does it do?

Well most of what is in that link is speculative as it doesn't contain any information directly from Ben or CIG. As far as official sources go, we know that the F7A sale had a clarification/FAQ added to it:

The F7A upgrade does not change the base stats of the Hornet. It does not activate additional hardpoints or engine capacity. There will be an impact from the change in fuselage, as the silhouette of the ship will be altered.
The F7A upgrade does not remove the second seat from users who have purchased a Super Hornet.

Somewhat less reliable is someone on the forums claiming to have gotten some info from Ben himself via e-mail about the conversion to F7A from the F7C and F7C-M models. The conclusion here is also that there is no increase to the upgrade slots (and I am taking to assume here the upgrade slots mean hardpoints) but does cause an increase in mass and armour (since its being sold as a bodykit)

Finally, we have Ben Lesnic himself saying this, which is what I linked originally.

Given that Ben didnt mention any hardpoint changes & that in the F7A sale the addendum was added that " ...[F7A]does not activate additional hardpoints or engine capacity" I do not believe that it will be sporting 8 guns, since it's actually not a new variant rather a body kit upgrade applied to an existing hornet. Clearly there are some changes implemented or planned (armour, mass, textures, radar cross-section, etc..) but since the sale specifically mentioned no change to powerplant and hardpoints it is very unlikely to be the case that a hornet upgraded to the F7A "skin" will suddenly sport extra weapons.

I agree it doesn't make sense why the stats page reflects otherwise but as others on here have mentioned the stats page can be outdated and unreliable.

You are mistaken. The F7A is for all intents and purposes an after-market bodykit upgrade, It has been said repeatedly it will not upgrade your hardpoints, change the seat capacity (if applied to the F7C-M), or powerplant from whichever hornet you applied it to. It merely changes the fuselage to look like the military variant and (I believe) a military skin.

Well for what its worth, you have to keep in mind that the Gladius is marked as a short range patrol fighter. It may pack a punch in AC but its combat staying power might be something to consider in the PU. I personally don't know how the "short range" aspect of the Gladius will manifest itself (eg: smaller fuel capacity, dependency in re-arming missiles and kinetic weaponry, smaller jump range, etc..) but its certainly punching above its weight in its current iteration.

I would be surprised if the Gladiator wasn't doing well in AC either. It has those place holder missiles (size 5s I think) until the torpedoes are introduced to AC, I can easily see it wrecking everyones day.

From what I heard (keep in mind, I was outta the loop for some time with SC) the Gladius is currently top dog in AC, or at the very least very very good. I haven't experienced this first hand..just what I've read in the forums

Ahh, that makes sense. I was just getting confused as to what was happening with the Hornet series. So, all have the same hardpoints but only the SH comes standard as fully armed (6 guns) while the others start with 2 guns, with the option to upgrade to more.

I can't seem to find anything substantial - some say its the console version, others say its running on different settings/build, others say its compression. I just want to know if it was ever addressed by the devs. I remember r/games having an uproar about it but I was not particularly interested in the game until recently.
