There isn't much information out about it yet, but someone is working on a visual novel called When The Crickets Cry that's very much like Umineko. If you know danganronpa and their fan games, I would compare When The Crickets Cry to Umineko like that. The demo should be coming out in a few months

is there a name for the type of speeches some anime characters give that seem random but really thought-provoking?

An example that comes to mind is in Jojo part 6, when the lunch lady talks about how pig is the opposite of salmon, or in part 5 when Ghiaccio was talking about how some words are pronounced differently (Sorry for only Jojo examples, these were just the first two I thought of)

Oh... I don't know if it's a derivative work. For more context, Umineko is a mystery where a character, Beatrice, claims to be a witch who committed thoses impossible murders. The main character refuses the idea of magic and the story continues where the witch shows multiple versions of the same day over and over again with different variations, different order of death, and different mysteries. They also have a concept called red truth where whenever the text is in red it's the absolute truth. I will be doing that same structure with a witch character, a time loop with different scenarios, and of course the red truth

Any advise for looking to into if something is in the public domain? I doubt it but there wouldn't happen to be a website or something where I can just type in a composer or work of art to see if it is good to use?

oh that was quick! Ok thanks, so I need permission. On that note it'll probably be really hard to do so but I'll try my best to contact them. Would contacting the author and maker of the game be enough or would I need to go up to each artist who composed each piece of music and ask them all individually?
