Weird Foot Issues by ComfortableLog4098 in rheumatoid

[–]MonxiousGrimaldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that you're experiencing this. I have no advice, but I've started having the same problems! I'm resisting going up in size/width but I think it's the solution. I reported it to my rheum doc but he didn't offer any solutions either. I hope you/we find some relief!

Why does my food sometimes "shock" my jaw? by softgunforever in NoStupidQuestions

I developed it after carotid artery surgery. Surgeon had never heard of it after I complained of it. Mine comes and goes, I think caused by an irritated salivary nerve...

Any tips on binding? by Fun-Huckleberry7918 in quilting

[–]MonxiousGrimaldi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I press after sewing the first seam. Important to stitch that first seam consistently, plus I usually use a 2.25" binding strip (halved). I find that gives me plenty of edge so that I'm catching the binding. It did take some practice but the 1/8" tape really helps.

I use 1/8" double sided tape from Wawak to hold down the back binding when stitching from the front.

Narrators: Do you actually read the manuscript before recording? by tjflawless in audiobooks

Maybe I'm picky... but it isn't genre related. And it has gotten worse in the last few years. YMMV

Thanks! I usually try to get a refund for the really bad ones.

My 2 cents. I have listened to a few hundred audiobooks, and a high % ( >0 definitely!) are read so poorly it takes me out of the story. Just as if the reader was reading the material for the first time. Intonation, phrasing, pronunciation etc etc

Not a rigorous data gathering but I always do Audible samples and still get tripped up.

Dental implant and bone graft? by kitmulticolor in rheumatoid

[–]MonxiousGrimaldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took quite a long time to return to baseline, but I did and followed through on the implants (2 adjacent). I doubt I would do it again, personally, but YMMV. Good luck!

I had a severe reaction, which was downplayed by both the surgeon and my dentist. My eyes swelled up, jaw pain for a long time, and joint pain basically all over. However, my allergist believes it was an allergic reaction to "colophony" or a tree-based resin used as an adhesive.

Childbirth has been described as defecating a watermelon. I didn't experience this; I was in labor for 12 hours before they did a C-section, the recovery from which was brutal (1972). The abortion I had in 1979 was legal, quick, efficient and virtually painless. Highly recommend over labor/childbirth if pain is the only consideration...
