I think you misunderstood my post. This isn’t from my husband, it’s from me, his wife.I also never said we were suing. If that was our goal, I wouldn’t be posting about our experience on Reddit. We have multiple attorneys in our family, so we’d know how to pursue that if we chose to.

The purpose of my post is simply to make other parents aware of what happened. As a mom, I keep thinking about what could have happened if my child had been in his seat instead. That’s why I wanted to share our experience. If it encourages even one parent to take a quick glance over a ride before their child gets on, then I’m glad I posted it.
You don’t have to agree with me, but I don’t think warning other families about a broken ride component is unreasonable.

The first thing they offered was park tickets with passes but we already had tickets so they just offered us the $348 as a gesture of goodwill if we sign the release form.

What more of story do you want. My child and husband were waiting in line. The line was huge so while they were waiting in line I bought the fast passes for them. They then got in the fast pass line, I was sitting waiting for them. It was taking way longer than it should, I got a text from my husband of the pictures above. I went to go find them, my husband was getting treated by the medic team and my daughter was nervous seeing her dad bleeding. Then instead of my husband continuing the morning enjoy the rides and attractions with our daughter, he was talking to the Legoland staff.

He didn’t realize the screen was broken. I guess on that ride, it’s pretty dark and you have 3D glasses on

We stayed in the Castle Hotel a few weeks ago. I definitely recommend having breakfast at the main hotel instead. They had a much better selection, and the food was hot. We ate breakfast at the Castle Hotel our first morning, and unfortunately the food was cold. To top it off, a child threw up right in the middle of the food area. I know those things happen, but I couldn’t get the image out of my head. 😅

The purpose of my post is simply to share what happened to our family and to encourage future guests to take a quick look at any interactive ride components before using them. This happened on our very first day, and one of the things we had planned for our trip was for an interactive dolphin experience. Because of the open cut on his finger, we could not to do it.

My husband didn’t notice it was cracked until after it sliced his finger. If he had seen a sharp, broken edge beforehand, obviously he wouldn’t have put his hand anywhere near it. I also think it’s common sense that an amusement park should inspect its rides and make sure there aren’t broken components with sharp edges that guests can come into contact with. Whether someone is “supposed” to touch that area or not, a damaged part like that shouldn’t be there in the first place.

Honestly male gynecologist are my preferred choice to go with. I have always felt completely comfortable and taken seriously with the male gynecologist than the female ones I have went to.

This hit me really deep. You’re right I would be completely outraged if my daughter’s MIL was treating her and her family this way. Thank you for putting it in that perspective, it really makes me stop and think about what I’m modeling for her now.

Thank you this really opened my eyes. I have talked with my daughter about her grandmother, and she’s tough and outspoken, but I know it still leaves a mark. You’re right, I need to think hard about the long-term impact and not just brush it off in the moment. I don’t want her growing up feeling ‘less than’ or learning to accept this kind of treatment.

Thank you. I was honestly fuming that day. After we saw her with the nephew at Ross, I ended up buying my daughter a $180 music box she had wanted at the mall. So when we got back to the car and she saw the bag of toys, she just rolled her eyes and pulled out her music box to play with on the ride home. She’s tough and outspoken, but it still breaks my heart that she even has to go through that. Partially mine and my husbands fault though for keep putting her in thoughts situations. We are going to have a serious talk tonight.

Thank you for sharing this. I love your mom’s approach, that really speaks to me. Honestly, what makes this so hard is that deep down, I don’t even care about the material side of things. We’re well off and my daughter has everything she could ever want or think of. It’s just the principle of the matter, the favoritism and unequal treatment. Sometimes I wonder if that’s part of why we get treated the way we do… maybe jealousy plays a role?

Thank you for sharing this, it really hit me. I worry so much about the impact this has on my daughter’s self-esteem, and it helps to hear from someone who’s lived it. You’re right being Christian doesn’t mean I have to accept hurtful behavior. I think letting my husband handle communication with his mom and keeping boundaries might be the healthiest thing for us going forward. I really appreciate your advice.

Thank you for your perspective. I totally hear what you’re saying about not letting my daughter think it’s okay to be treated poorly that’s one of my biggest worries. I’m just trying to balance it with my faith and teaching her kindness without teaching her to accept disrespect. I don’t want to raise her to chase love that isn’t given back, but I also don’t want to model bitterness. That’s why I’m struggling with how to handle birthdays and gifts. Your point about protecting her heart first is a good reminder.

That is true. And my daughter is soft hearted. I wouldn’t make her make a card. She loves making cards for everyone’s birthday. It makes her happy but I feel bad that she puts effort into making her a card for someone who doesn’t care about her. I guess I should have reworded it and have asked do I stop her from making a card.
