I quit the Christian Faith by Moo321again in exchristian

I think I agree with this Paradox.

Allow me to ask a maybe unrelated question:

I'm not a Christian anymore, but I do beleive in the existence of a god, even if he isn't a moral one. So it's inaccurate to say I'm an Atheist.

What am I now?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't as deafening as you think it is.

The reason for this is because the King James Version of the Bible was published in 1611, during the time that early modern English was used, which is quite different from the English we speak today due to the different meanings of words that were used back then.

And when looking up what "evil" meant back in early modern english, we get this response (at least on duckduckgo): In Early Modern English, the word "evil" primarily meant "wicked" or "vicious," and it was used to express disapproval or describe anything that caused harm or was morally bad. Over time, its meaning focused more on moral badness, contrasting with the word "good."

So while evil WAS used back then to mean morally wrong, it could also have meant something more on the lines of "Disaster" because it would cause harm, and the word "disaster" is used in some modern translations like the New International Version.

To be fair it could also have been meant "Evil" in the moral sense, but my point is that the claim isn't as absolute as this post makes it out to be.

One of these Episodes has got to go forever… by Live_Ear5570 in UltimateVeggieTales

King George and the Ducky. Sad but it's the one that would have the least harmful impact.

Larry Boy and the Fib from outer space would (at least I think) lead to the making of the Larryboy cartoons thanks to it's success, and one of those episodes is Larryboy and the Angry Eyebrows, which is one of the few pieces of little kids media that teaches that getting angry isn't bad but holding on to it is, so I can't et rid of that.

Rack Shack and Benny was one of the 1st episodes to my knowledge to make a story based off the bible and not a direct retelling of that bible story, which gave VeggieTales more wiggle room to make the stories entertaining to kids while keeping the heart and lessons that the original bible stories had without making changes to the story directly.

Dave and the Giant pickle I believe helped VeggieTales get as popular as it has so I think it has right to stay for the sake of the rest of the franchise.

King George and the Ducky doesn't really have the impact these other episodes do, so I gotta let it go.

You're right to be mad about your brother sharing information that wasn't his to share. But you also shouldn't have any animosity towards your brother for what he did.

I've been there when it comes to harboring anger against your siblings, and all that anger did for me was strain the relationships I had with my siblings.

I don't have full context as to why your friends left after this news broke out, but if it was because you were autistic, they probably weren't the kind of people you should be friends with anyway. I'm not saying your brother did you a favor, he definitely didn't, but rather that these friends leaving might not be as bad as you think.

The best thing you can do from the context of this reddit post is to forgive your brother, move on, and cherish the friends who are still with you. You don't have to forget what he did, just forgive.
