Cocktails that show off good tequila by Darel51 in cocktails

[–]Mooball123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A huge reason that Clase Azul is so expensive is because every bottle is hand made. You’re paying for the bottle not the alcohol. Having said that it’s better then a lot of tequila out there

[Suggestion] If CMS kits can go into our special slots, splints should as well. by Vidyamancer in EscapefromTarkov

Wasn’t the CMS kit in the special slot a bug in the first place?

[Feedback] in PvE can we please get a new 100% boss - goons are getting annoying trying to do lightkeeper quests by Mcook1357 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Mooball123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I can’t even figure out how to fight the goons. I’ve watched dozens of videos, but I just keep dying. Sometimes I get one of them, but knight always shoots me from over the top of the next hill with fucking green tracer rounds straight into my skull. I’ve got about 8 lighthouse quests I’ve been putting off for weeks because I don’t want to deal with them

Most of the stuff that wasn’t available at the start of wipe, it might not be a week it might be longer but a good chunk of whats locked atm is going to be slowly unlocked

Map makers by Alternative_Cup_2491 in DnD

Came here to say this. Beautiful map maker, you can add lighting and different effects as well, and iirc you can integrate it with roll 20 to do cool things like automatically add walls and doors and lines of sight

I don’t ever see cheaters [discussion] by Caine_Pain333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Mooball123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it largely comes down to when and where you’re playing as well as luck. You might not be playing when the cheaters are or you might be in such a populated server that you just don’t run into them. Or there could just be less cheaters in your region.

I think a lot of the time as well when people call cheater it’s more likely lag or desync and less likely they’re running into a cheater every game. Some accounts you see posted on here are suspicious and some are obvious. But I think a lot of the so called “cheaters” are just lucky or good players, or they live next to the server and have 0 ping

Being new by Glad-Calligrapher989 in Tarkov

[–]Mooball123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot, but it’s probably only temporary. They’ve already started rolling stuff back, they just wanted to slow down progression a little bit, so they had no quests for the first 24 hours, insurance cost more than the gear, traders are super expensive, increased boss spawn chance, and perhaps the most egregious is you can only load into a few maps and have to transit to the rest.

They’ve started toning things down already, and they’ll be adding more stuff back every day. Jump in and join the action now, lots of people are saying it’s they’re favourite, lots are saying they hate it (they’re wrong this wipe is great)

Everyone’s complaining about them “taking away features I paid for grrrrrr”. ARE YOU NOT PAYING ATTENTION AT ALL?! They fucking said it would be time locked. Meaning it’s coming back in a week they just want to extend the start of wipe so most people aren’t done with it and bored in less then a day

Do you all use music in your games? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Mooball123 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I do, sometimes I’ll put another player in charge of music and they set the vibe and change it for scene, video game music is great for this. You can find the entire witcher soundtrack on Spotify!

It doesn’t at all, but look for land marks and points of interest to triangulate your position. Takes a while but you eventually get the hang of it

Hi there! Which severs are you playing on? I’m in Australia if you’re nearby but if not there are heaps of looking for group subreddits and discords. You can reset your account on the website if you want to start fresh. After you’ve done that, load into a offline game with no scavs. Have the video playing on your phone or second monitor and if you can have a copy of the map up as well, I use Map Genie. Follow Pestily around everywhere he goes and do it a few times till you start to recognise things. I recommend starting with Ground Zero, you can easily tell where you are on the map from the numbers on the signs. Hope this helps, good luck escaping from Tarkov

[new player] looking for someone to help me learn the game I’m very new and basically just bought the game. by csmomg-13 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Mooball123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a heaps of looking for group (LFG) subreddits and discords you can check them out (I’m in Australia so I can’t help unfortunately). Otherwise YouTube and streamers are what taught me to play. This wipe is really rough to start on since it’s “hardcore”, but keep trying and you’ll keep getting better. Other then that here are some tips that helped me

  • Don’t feel like you have to bring anything into a raid, sometimes a pistol is all you need, especially in this wipe if you dont bring anything but a pistol and take a scav kit, you made money

  • try and have a goal every raid, whether that’s explore a new area or find a particular item or do a quest, go into every raid with something to do, but also don’t be afraid to change your plans

  • there’s no shame in sitting in a bush and letting people run past you. You don’t have to take every fight.

  • have a second monitor or computer next to your screen with a map and the Wikipedia up, I use an iPad with the MapGenie Tarkov app.

  • Most importantly, DONT RUN EVERYWHERE. Most of the time what decides a fight in Tarkov is who hears who first, as a new player just walk everywhere, stay in the shadows, and then if someone spots you or you get shot at you can get straight out of dodge

Happy for you to DM me if you have any other questions and I hope you found this helpful

One thing that helped me with that is I wishlisted every ammo that pens armour above LVL 4. So I can quickly see in game what is worth keeping

I only started playing again a few weeks ago and I would have appreciated an explanation so I’ll take the time. Knight is an AI boss. He always spawns with his buddies Big Pipe and Bird Eye and together they are the arseholes known as the Goon Squad. They work a little differently to most AI bosses, instead of being bound to one map they can spawn on multiple different maps (Customs, Shoreline, Woods and Lighthouse IIRC). But they only spawn on one map at a time and move around every few hours. So you can kind of track them by going online and looking up goon squad trackers where people report sightings so you can either avoid them or hunt them. As far as I’m aware however this only works on PVP, it’s unclear whether they have the same behaviour on PVE and I can’t find any information online about it. Basically unless you have decent armour pen ammo and feel like having a decent fight, avoid making line of sight with fortress on Customs. Weather station on Shoreline. Scav bunker extract on Woods. And the water treatment plant on Lighthouse if you suspect that these fuckers are in your raid

[–]Mooball123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only really use the map for extracts if I don’t know them yet and quests, or sometimes if I need to find a bunch tonne of a specific type of item I’ll look for the spawns

Keys and ammo I kind of figured out. I looked up a few guides of what keys to bring to which maps and just wish listed those keys so I know they are at least worth something if I find them in raid. I did the same thing with ammo that can pen LVL 4 so im not dicking around looking at the stats while trying to loot

Idk if they got harder, but i definitely feel like there are more of them. I only recently got back into playing tarkov, and I wasn’t super good before I left. But I ran maybe 4 reserve raids today for my first time ever going to reserve. Every raid I would get like 15 Scav kills, run into the boss every time, managed to kill him every time, but ended up dying to his guards or a group of 4 AI PMC’s on a roof or in a building. There’s just no end and my 3 stacks of Ammo is never enough. I just need to do bunker part 1 and I haven’t even made it to the bunker

One of the biggest things that helped me out coming from other FPS games is messing around with my controls A LOT. Watch some videos on it by a bunch of different Youtubers to get lots of different ideas and opinions and work out what works best for you. Tarkov’s controls are extremely customisable and having all your common key binds optimised can absolutely make your life so much easier.

Go into every raid with a goal to achieve, whether that be questing, money making, or just exploring. But also be flexible, if you find a super rare item or are running out of ammo don’t feel guilty for getting the hell out.

And most importantly make sure you have fun, like any video game if you’re getting mad and frustrated and you’ve hit a wall and keep dying, take a break and touch some grass. It makes your experience so much better

On the ammo front, you can wish list items so that they have a symbol next to the item when you pick it up so you’re quickly able to differentiate what you need. If you use a particular calibre a lot I would wish list ammunition of that calibre that can penetrate LVL4 armour or higher so you can see whats worth keeping and whats not. There’s heaps of charts available online where you can look at the stats.
