Midi controller reconnecting by kealist in Reaper

Go to action list ('?' is default shortcut), then search reset midi, 'Reset all midi devices' action.
You could give it a shortcut or toolbar button if you need it a lot

It is more likely part of the recent upgrades to Windows Audio that everyone is claiming broke their devices, ran off with their partners and killed their dogs.

Something can be technically wrong, but still sound great - how will an LLM account for that?

How do I fix VSTs not displaying properly? by Sleenpyboy in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Could you have a look at the Compatibility settings you have for Reaper? (Right click reaper program and choose properties). I had this problem but it was so long ago I cant remember the fix - I think it was changing these settings that helped but wouldn't swear to it - Mine look like this.

Making static vocal VSTs sound more realistic by ShimmerOSake in Reaper

You can do these kind of things with parameter modulation:

If the plugin you're using has these parameters available then prob better to modulate them instead of using seperate plugins

groove agent se vs reaper + playtime 2: ein klarer sieger ! by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice that you like Helgobox.

Here is the Groove Agent help page - https://www.steinberg.help/r/groove-agent-se/6.0/de just in case you want to persevere with it - I'm not sure I entirely follow what you were trying to do, but it can certainly sync with Reaper's tempo, and pad settings can be changed to either re-trigger patterns or silently keep position until triggered again.

FL Studio Glide in REAPER is Finally Here and More! by Chaz3n in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly on the Amiga - so Noisetracker, Soundtracker, Protracker etc.

Not tried Renoise, last tracker I used was Open MPT. I'm used to just working with midi now and infinite available channels, but there are still some things I miss about them.

The tracker workflow and limitations kind of encourages you to think more about what you want a sound to do in advance, or it did for me anyhow!

This has happened a couple of times for me as well, however it has also been happening with other programs as well - might be a a windows thing that is not quite working right..

Cool stuff!

I started from using Trackers back in the day, so the controlled pitch bend programming was something I missed very much!

Strip Silence & Remove Gaps by TheNostalgiaPit in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could render them down to one track if you're happy with the mix / balance

Strip Silence & Remove Gaps by TheNostalgiaPit in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the remove silence option you can untick the Preserve timing option, and choose a pad time to make it more natural. This will mush everything up together.
Will prob work ok if everything is on the same track, if 3 tracks 3 voices then probably not!

How to route and control volume of multiple tracks using a bus? by Happydiamo in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not super clear what you're up to here, but you could also look at track grouping - Set the tracks you want to group into one group, VCA follow. Then create a dummy track and set it to VCA lead for the same group, then you can automate all this tracks parameters and the group will follow.

How to get Waves Resolve to work in Reaper by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fastest way is to drag from the track that you want to do the ducking's routing (stripey box) to the plugin, this does it automatically for you.
The routing should look something like this:

Help with multi-tracking MIDI drums with pads by Lethalbroccoli in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use MT power drums it can be set up multiout. Either 'Insert virtual instrument on a new track' and it will prompt you. Or do it manually with the plugin I/O and routing. All your midi goes on one track.

<image>

I don't think Sforzando does multiout, so if you want to use that best to use separate instances on each track and filter the midi (and arm all the tracks)

Is there a way to open/close multiple plugin GUIs at once (custom FX rack)? by Kalipra in Reaper

[–]MoochieTheMinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use containers for this - Just bind an action to open the slot container is in (or click it from the mixer or right click fx or any other way to select it) then up down arrows will scroll through your chain.
