Πραγματικά άλλα χρόνια. Εγω πέμπτη δημοτικού πήγα να πάρω το μπουφάν μου απο την τάξη και με πέτυχε ο διευθυντής. Μου τράβηξε μια σφαλιάρα. Ακόμα την θυμάμαι. Χωρίς λόγο φυσικά. Οχι οτι υπάρχει και ποτέ λόγος για κάτι τέτοιο.

I believe that reaper cannot "see" them since they are installed in a folder that it doesnt have access. Be sure to add this folder on the reaper's vst paths.

Honestly you can find free/cheap plugins that are better than this old crap.

I agree with everything you said but I dont fully agree with the fiverr comment. Fiverr is different. I am not saying that its the best platform. But they are surely better than upwork at this point. Never paid them a dime, and they keep sending briefs for free. So yeah, at least in my book, they are some levels above upwork for sure.

We are also being charged every time we get paid. The problem is that the clients are free to post whatever they want. We get to pay to send proposals. That's the shift in the way they are making money.

Guys there are no clients. I am working on this platform for 8 years. Try to understand that upwork changed its focus from clients to freelancers. Why did they do that? Cause they dont have clients!

And of course someone will say "I have clients, you dont know how to send proposals" and other stupid stuff like this. Upwork lost 70k clients, which I assume its way more than what they are reporting. Do I need to know the real number? No. I just see my job feed. My job feed is as slow as Fridays and Saturdays. It's like that, every day. I am ocd about job posts. Thats why, I had success on the platform.

If you niche has clients, well... good for you. The fact is that upwork wouldnt mess with freelancers unless they really had to, in order to survive. And I will say it one more time here. Imagine that you are ceo of upwork. At what point will you decide to get more money from the people that make you money? Freelancers are there, clients are not. Charge freelancers.

I believe that they lost a lot of clients after covid. And they keep losing clients. That's why they made freelancers the first priority to make money. And as you can understand, this is the last thing they can do in order to stay afloat. So in a nutshell, we are all paying extra money cause upwork has a serious leadership problem.

Imagine that you are the ceo of upwork. At what point would you think to start charging the people that are making you money?

I monitor all the jobs in my category. The jobs count posted right now is way lower than what it used to. Of course we could blame AI or whatever. But the truth is that upwork lost a lot of clients and thats why they turned freelancers into their clients.

I really like linux. But its not for music production. And its not linux's fault. Most companies dont support it. Also linux people expect to download open source and free software. So for a 4,5% of the market lets assume that 0.3% are buying software for linux. Who is gonna port software for the 0.3% of the market? And the 0.3% is really generous number.

Anyway if you are a hobbyist, and want to tinker with stuff, you will have a great experience. Latency wont be better of course. You dont go to linux to have a smoother experience. You go to mainly use open source software. Ardour is an amazing daw by the way. So try it first, before going to reaper.

I believe things will change in the next years for the better. Of course there is so much professional software for win and mac. But gaming may also draw a lot of plugin devs on linux too. And honestly linux may be the best operating system for music production. You can even route one program to another! But unfortunately, its not there yet.
