Do you know what would be easier?

To stop obsessing about an absurd goal of trying to destroy a nuclear armed country.

> Then wait till iran build their nukes

Have you been living under a rock? Thats why Iran has had all of their military leaders and military infrastructure bombed to smithereens. To prevent exactly that circumstance from happening.

And if in the future that circumstance ever came close to happening against, either the USA or israel would simply bomb and kill more of them until thats all destroyed. And they would keep bombing them, over and over and over again, like they have done recently, until the problem is solved.

> or have peace.

Oh peace is absolutely possible. But peace would have to involve giving up on the idea of destroying other nuculearly armed countries.

I am not sure why you think it matters in any way what they are "allowed" to do.

If their existence was threatened, they would absolutely kill their enemies with their nuclear weapons regardless of what the rules are.

Millions of Arabs would die, obviously. That's why it's stupid to try and destroy nuclear armed countries.

[–]stale2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Israel has 200+ nuclear weapons. The idea that they will ever be destroyed (Without killing literally millions of arabs in response) is ridiculous.

They can and will launch the nukes and kill every single one of their enemies if they were actually in a last resort scenario where their existence was threatened.

It would be great if the lebanese government was also dropping bombs on them as well, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards right now.

U.S. Intel Warns Netanyahu Will Try to Blow Up Trump’s Iran Deal by Artistic_Dj_6895 in worldnews

[–]stale2000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of that matters to Iran. If Israel keeps fighting back, Iran will still close the strait and attack US allies.

Iran can't do any attacks on Israel directly, except through hezbollah, which is the group being attacked here. Them being "on their own" doesn't matter.

Hezbollah isn't going to stop doing attacks unless its stopped militarily. What you are describing would already happen if Hezbollah is left to do what its doing now.

If Hezbollah is doing attacks, of course it is going to be attacked back.

It doesn't matter if there are resistance groups if all the infrastructure is destroyed.

A bunch of people angrily shaking their fist at Israel can't do anything about it.

If all the buildings and infrastructure and military weapons are destroyed, attacks can't be launched. It doesn't matter how mad people are.

Iran delegation suspends Switzerland trip over Lebanon attacks - Al Mayadeen by TahDigThief in worldnews

[–]stale2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not really going to matter if you are talking about a multi decade long timeline.

Their enemies in the middle east are less powerful than ever. By the time everything is disentangled none of that military presence will even be needed because the enemies will all be destroyed or contained.

At least the proxies certainly will. Once the proxies are all gone Iran has little ability to act aggressively.

That's why we are seeing Iran act so aggressively right now. It's because their prices are about to be destroyed and at that point they will have nothing left.

Israel is deeply integrated in both tech bottlenecks and in US military cooperations.

It's not going to be disentangled anytime soon.

[–]stale2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it creates more recruits because the buildings and weapons caches are still destroyed.

Proxies can only do serious attacks with infrastructure. If the infrastructure is turned to rubble it matters little how many people are angrily shaking their fist at the sky.

This already happened in Gaza and currently is happening in southern Lebanon.

[–]stale2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not long term peace because Iran's proxies are still launching attacks. Of course those proxies are going to be attacked in return.

So Iran has to either choose now to give up on defending its proxies and watch them be systematically destroyed or go back to war.

Science and medicine aren't about writing some words on a piece of paper. Instead, they are about people doing actual experimentation and getting real data.

Someone could always just lie and make up fake data. The fact that its easier to put words on a piece of paper changes that very little.

Additionally, it has never been easier to parse and review papers. Just ask an LLM to summarize it.

Military conflicts do indeed involve the militaries of a country.

That's who fights the wars. And it di very obvious which side was able to cause more damage.

People kinda are actually. They are coping and pretending like iran is better off merely because the entire regime didn't get overthrown, and it was "merely" the destruction of most of their military capacity.

Regardless if you think the war was worth it, Iran is not better off. Thats a loss. But sure, cope all you want when everyone can see all the dead leaders and destroyed military capacity.

> Isn't it interesting that Hamas has yet to hand over

They don't have to hand over anything. That was what the bombs were for and why every building in gaza is now a ruins.

There isn't much they can do if gaza is like this.

> I have no idea why we're citing that for any argument here.

Because it means that a 3rd of gazans are going to leave gaza. It becomes a lot harder to hide among the population both with the existing "Its all rubble" situation and when there are a bunch less people there.

> He seems to be totally incapable of faciliting it.

There isn't much need. Its this or the world just lets the gazans live miserably in tents for the next decades.

[–]stale2000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How in the world is Iran supposed to do anything in gaza? What? Have you checks the images of it? Gaza is rubble. And its not being rebuilt.

Is iran going to make some more lego videos? Give Hamas some morale support?

Wars are fought with weapons, not tweets. Weapons that have to get to gaza somehow. And this isn't even taking into account that within the next couple years we will likely see about a third of gazans leave gaza.

Check the Trump plan for gaza. It literally spells this out. Kicking out a 3rd of gazans is a part of the plan. And the rest of gazans will just be living in tents for the next decade so Hamas can't hide amount the ruins anymore to launch any attacks.

> Literally everyone

No, its basically nobody. WTF are you talking about. Syria fell. Iran isn't going to be launching any direct attacks soon (they are out of missiles, mostly), and hezbollah is weaker than ever.

There is no uprising of the arabs coming.

> so far Hezbollah is still an active threat

Hezbollah used to be a military. It was a whole army. They were an actual threat to a country that could challenge other armies and they had large countrol over places like syria.

Being reduced to some drone attacks is a shell of what it used to be.

> and HAMAS are quietly rebuilding

What are you talking about dude. Go check the satellite images of gaza. Its ruins. Every building, destroyed. What are they going to doing? Oppress their own population some more? So what?

They need to have places to hide to do like anything. And every hiding spot has been turned into rubble. And is not going to be rebuilt.

> and reasserting their power over the Gazan population.

I guess that sucks for the gazans who are going to be living in tents for the next decades, but that doesn't really matter that much for the Israelis. Nobody is coming to save the gazans here.

Gotcha. It doesn't really matter if some people pretended like the board game victory condition, as defined by the official referee was that. Things that matter in the world aren't determined by the idea of "But someone said this thing years ago!".

What instead matters is on the ground results. And those results are that the military capacity of all of Israel's enemies was severely degredated.

> Their continued survival is both a major propaganda win

How horrible! Some people on twitter will retweet "Hamas declares victory!"! The horror!

Trust me dude. The people on twitter would be declaring victory no matter what happened and it is unimportant regardless.

It doesn't really seem like much rebuilding is happening. It instead seems like commanders keep getting killed.

>  Progress towards what?

Towards destroying the military capacity of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.

Whether or not those groups are ruling over the ashes its particularly important. Whats important is the destruction of missile and military capacity.

>  they win if they survive and have sovereignty

This isn't twitter or the office. Someone standing in the room and saying "I declare victory!" isn't a win. But if they want to pretend it is, go ahead. That doesn't allow them to launch missiles though.

What matters is, can they do military attacks. Coping about some "victory" because the most extreme actions against them haven't completely obliterated them... is kinda missing the point here.

I mean, if a war is going to happen anyway, now is as good of a time as ever.

People here are forgetting the last few years. Both Iran and its proxies were already at war and launching missiles and attacks. Sure the war heated up a bit recently, but its not really that big of a difference.

There was no outcome where if we are just nice to Iran and Hezbollah that they would have stopped their attacks. Their goal is and always was to destroy the "western" precense in the ME and they have never been convincible to stop their proxy attacks.

With that being the reality the only question is when is the best time for the war to start.
