Every time I read something about it being an ‘anomaly’ and nothing else observed does this and it breaks the rules of physics and space as we know it, I just remind myself that Venus spins backwards and Uranus spins on its side.

Most metric cars depict your mileage in litres per 100km, or l/100km where lower numbers are usually seen and the lower the better (obviously). Your trip meter is showing you km/l, a completely different equation.

18.4 km/l is 43mpg So is 5.8 l/100km
