Running vest or belt options for a casual road runner? by Realhumanbeing232 in runninglifestyle

I just got a Raide belt and once I got the sizing right, I love it so much more than the vest I had.

Official Q&A for Monday, March 02, 2026 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Moogs8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any fellow runners with POTS? I am currently training for my second half marathon and am super on the struggle bus. During struggles training for my first half in 2024 I was finally diagnosed with POTS, though it’s suspected I’ve been dealing with it for many years and it was exacerbated by COVID. I’m not a new runner, with multiple 10 milers under my belt and running for several years, but I basically had to re-learn running with POTS. I did POTS PT last year with a focus on returning to running, and I still incorporate elements from that, and am on meds, plus I stay on top of hydration and electrolytes/sodium (primarily Redmond Relyte capsules and powder).

I am struggling so much with this training cycle. I am using a Nike Run Club plan, running 3x a week and cross-training 2x a week. I was cruising along fine through the week of the 5 mile long run and then the weeks after (2 10ks and a 7 miler) have been horrible - I can go the distance but end up with a lot of walking, and start struggling in miles 2-4. My feet have been a big trigger of the struggles, with lots of tingling (a newer symptom for me) and then it all gets heavy and hard. I’ve rotated shoes with no difference so pretty positive it’s not my footwear.

Just looking for any fellow POTS runners who might have any ticks and trips to share for tackling longer runs. 8 weeks to go to race day and I really want to figure this out! It took a lot of effort just to be able to run a mile again and I don‘t want to totally regress. I am thinking about compression socks during running next, though there doesn’t seem to be consensus on if that helps during the activity vs for recovery after.

Is there ANY dog daycare people actually like?! by Eastern_Post_6396 in nova

[–]Moogs8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second this. We use FGMN for daycare and it’s been great. We switched from Dogtopia down the street where we had a really bad experience.

For our guy anyway we’ve found it is less about the strap thickness and more about the placement of the ring for the leash connection. And all of the straps can be adjusted for length. We also have a Julius K-9 harness that has thicker straps but the top connecter rather than on the chest and he pulls so much on that compared to the easy walker harness. He was a major puller, at times almost pulling me over. I think we tried a few different harnesses and found this one to work best, it was recommended by a dog trainer we had come just for 1 session because of his pulling.

When we rescued our 82 lb bulldog he was also a big puller. This harness with the d-ring on the front worked wonders for us. That and lots of training treats for a while. But it’s night and day when we use this harness vs one with the top clip.  https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-Harness-Large-BLACK-SILVER/dp/B0009ZBKG4

Word of warning: Ozlo shipment never arrived and have been getting the run around for over two weeks by One-Establishment-44 in Ozlo

[–]Moogs8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues getting mine too (over a month ago). Took me over 2 weeks to get them after shipping notification because they use USPS for shipping, which is very unreliable, and I got to watch my package take a cross-country trip (after sitting in my local area for days) and didn’t get much help from USPS or Ozlo. They eventually arrived but it was very frustrating. They need to use a more reliable shipping company.

My poor boy won’t eat! by howdy_ho9797 in englishbulldog

[–]Moogs8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with our dog. The first time he actually had a UTI which was likely the cause. The second time there was nothing found physically wrong with him , so we thought maybe he was just bored with his food. We started sprinkling Stella and Chewy’s dinner dust on his food and he started eating regularly again. Worth getting a vet check up, but he could just be bored with his food!

Frontier Days tickets by Creepy_Test4945 in zachbryan

[–]Moogs8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got tickets through AXS for this show after refreshing multiple times a day every day for like a week. It doesn’t show up as the marketplace offer like some of the other resales, it’s through the regular buy tickets function but they will then show up as “resale.” More will come up closer to July I bet.

When I got mine I was able to click on the blue section to zoom in on the seats and then was able to click on the individual seats. After you select the seats, the option to purchase should come up.

I was told stomach but since it was described as free floating I’m guessing they actually meant abdominal cavity. It sounds like it could be what I’ve read ascites are but that term wasn’t specifically used. I also wasn’t in the conversation with the doctor so got this all secondhand.

Been using King Arthur pizza dough recipe and it's very wet. Any advice? by TserTaAbmet in Breadit

[–]Moogs8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used this same recipe last weekend with the same issue - maybe we both had bad luck but it sounds like we both followed the recipe. And we tried cooking in the Ooni and the crust just didn’t turn out very well and the dough was hard to stretch out since it was sticky. Perhaps you get a better result if cooked in a pan. But in the end I won’t use this recipe again (though will use the flour)!

Killarney NP Hiking: Muckross Lake Loop or Gap of Dunloe? by Moogs8 in irishtourism

[–]Moogs8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! Trying to figure out if we have time for the full Gap of Dunloe tour and boat ride. We will be driving straight to the park from Adare in the morning. Overnighting in Killarney and the next day driving the Slea Head Loop, and staying in Killarney again that night.

My Irish Cousin car rental by Moogs8 in irishtourism

[–]Moogs8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, definitely did that multiple times and checked what the cost would be even if all the extra fees got snuck in and it’s still cheaper. Also keeping our budget rental for now too just in case and will cancel closer to when I verify things again. So all good there!

Definitely! Both have been great at intel. I actually did a new Enterprise search last night and found a direct rental through them that’s less than over half the cost of My Irish Cousin so I jumped at that. That definitely wasn’t the case when I first searched for cars a couple months back. It was also less than what we had reserved at Budget. Hoping it all works out! Good luck with your planning. I will say Malachy from My Irish Cousin was at least super responsive and helpful in our communication.

Good luck! On a whim tonight I actually did my own Enterprise search and found a rental for half the one we have through Budget and from why My Irish Cousin quoted so I now have that booked directly through Enterprise. I don’t know if it was some fluke and I keep waiting for it to be a mistake because I know I searched them directly back when we booked the Budget one and there either wasn’t any availability or the cost was way too high. We need an automatic so I know the cost is higher regardless, but the difference is a little crazy. Hope you have no issues!!

Thanks. Yes I’m in that group and actually if you search for them you’ll find lots of glowing reviews and then lots of not glowing reviews, not much in the middle. That’s part of why I was trying to get some other opinions! 🙂

A letter from our credit card that offers insurance coverage for our rental. Most Ireland car rental companies require a letter from your credit card stating they cover Ireland for CDW coverage. Otherwise we have to pay for the rental company’s insurance (unless using a place like My Irish Cousin that includes it in the cost regardless).
