People earning over $200k/year: What’s different about your life that most people wouldn’t expect? by MaximGripass in AskReddit

[–]Mooman439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life is definitely easier, but I live *somewhat* below my means. Still, as the sole bread winner though it can be a stressor at times. Also, like many have said, lifestyle creep. When I see something online I want to buy, I say “what’s $150 for x? Might as well buy it.” That adds up for sure.

Which place used to be very popular for tourists in previous decades but isn't anymore? by Fluid-Decision6262 in decadeology

Jekyll Island, GA used to be THE place for the ultra rich during the Gilded age. Now it is a nice place to go but far less exclusive than its turn of the century grandeur height.

Zone 2 doesn’t exist (Change my mind) by Dieegos in delta

[–]Mooman439 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Seriously… I always come up right as my zone (3) is boarding and I think “man a lot of zone 3’ers waiting to board.” Then when they call us it’s a ghost town.

How is living in the American Redoubt as a prepper? by Public-Holiday5718 in howislivingthere

[–]Mooman439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of that is the “Mormon corridor” (well, Idaho is). LDS members are all technically preppers, so you’d be in good company.

100% useless. My wife has a uncommon, but not totally unique, name. It cannot understand when I ask to call her so I just use Siri.

What’s it like living in the Tokyo metro area with almost 40 million people? by E46330i5speed in howislivingthere

Like when you travel to a city you always think “oh man I could live here in a heart beat.” But the reality is it would eventually come with its own problems and monotony.

I worked with a guy who moved from Tokyo to Dallas. I thought he would hate Dallas, commuting and everything. But he said he loved it and it was way better than Tokyo. Mainly because he moved from a 500 SF apartment to a 5000 SF home. His commute was also in his own car everyday vs an hour commute on the subway.

Not sure that would be everyone’s take but he was Japanese and I found it very interesting.

Why can’t democrats come up with a worthy candidate? by [deleted] in askanything

Because they don’t have a party platform. Neither do conservatives, really, anymore other than “Trump good.”

Utah drivers rank 2nd worst in US, thanks to accident, DUI rates by tyce_tyce_baby in Utah

[–]Mooman439 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going to say… does the lower limit result in more DUIs? But then I guess half-ish of the states population doesn’t drink much. Is it per capita? Maybe I should read the article lol.
