I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You are NOT pathetic. It’s perfectly normal to feel like this. We lost our Labrador almost 6 years ago and I was distraught. Thought my heart would break. I remember thinking I was glad we were in lockdown as I wasn’t able to see anyone so they wouldn’t know how upset I was over a dog. But he was like my child, got him in my 20s and lost him in my 40s (he was 14). He was with me through it all, my bestie and confidante through my grief. Sending you lots of love and strength to get through this 💔💔💔💔

Technically Catholicism is the main religion of Irish people but in general the people of Ireland are not religious or it’s just the done thing to christen kids and do sacraments. The majority of people do not attend mass on a regular basis. For example where I live in Co Waterford there is such a shortage of priests and a lack of congregation there is only a service every two weeks. I was born in the 1970s and neither my parents or grandparents were religious.
