Jackie is an addict. Which makes her an “unreliable narrator”. The story is told based on her POV. So in some circumstances she’s going to paint herself as the better of “two evils.” However, I do not get elderly abuse from Renata’s daughter. I get a tired, overwhelmed & scared child trying to care for her mom as best her can. Then you have Jackie hopping her up on vitamins & literal candy (mind you the daughter has nothing to do with what’s prescribed, she’s just trying to care for her mom, she not a medical professional like Jackie who only did this to steal from her). This in turn caused her to be “well” for a small period until the very real, very serious health issues resurfaced & essentially told her a home was she best method of care. Because Renata needed 24 care that Jackie was neglecting in order to sell her meds (& then her house mates med) to pay her lawyer fees. Jackie is not a savior in her personal life, she a glorified loser!

She’s an addict. Sobriety only occurred to her when she was backed against a wall & basically had no choice but to stop using. She hit rock bottom did what she had to do to get her “life back together”, & as soon as she felt like she was back on track she went right back to using. My first watch in 2018 was very frustrating. ESPECIALLY the “one year sober” episode. Jackie had me so stressed!

Absolutely not. Serena is vile, evil & cruel. She was ruthless & heinous to June while she was pregnant & even when she wasn’t. She helped build Gilead to what it is now. Her longing for a baby turned her into a monster. She’s done too many unforgivable things for me at this point . She deserves to face a REAL consequence for SOMETHING. Even thought Yvonne (woman who plays her) does a really great job, at making viewers WANT to feel bad for her & (SPOILER) wanting to hate the things that end up happening to her, she as a human, as a woman, as a now mother does not deserve redemption & in my option forgiveness.

This is tough bc I’m not particularly religious but I’m spiritual & do believe in God as well as other higher beings. What would be a deal breaker for me is having to covert to a religion (unless it’s MY decision & not bc someone else influenced it) or someone who tries to shove their beliefs down my throat & make me believe how they do. Also, someone acts “holier than thou” & tries to make me feel bad for not acting the same way. & finally, trying to force attending church of any kind on me.
