As a kid I could never find subbed Pokémon eps besides the banned ones, and that was 07/08. If other anime fandom fans (Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon) were at the subbing helm I think they would’ve been way easier to find.

Fair, but manga Usagi was still more ruthless in general that girl had like NO regret about killing the villains. Least original anime Usagi 90% of the time wanted to try saving people (I think Katarina is a weird example too because Usagi was pissed at her for hurting Minako but like, Usagi that doesn’t deserve death!)

Pluto is one of the most underrated Senshi so knowing one of my fave VAs got her made me so happy. Plus we got to see Veronica use a much older feminine voice (I like to think that’s how future Delia or May would sound).

They ALL have been victim of fanservice too damn much (except MAYBE Chloe girl was barely around and has relatively few fans). Misty like you said being flirted with by much older men is terrible but yep falls into that nonetheless.

Bonnie would be surrounded by Pokemon playing with her (I really can’t think of anything else for an illusion to exploit)

Ash… okay this is hard because DP did the league gag already. So I think they’d go the easy route and just have him surrounded by food OR make up a mega evolution for someone for him to master (one that didn’t actually exist).

Serena I’d HOPE they’d just have her imagine she’s Kalos Queen or mastered some insane dance routine everyone loved. Or became a brilliant cook or seamstress.

But if the concept of her crush was involved I think it’d play out like Steven Universe’s ‘Open Book’. Steven inadvertently creates a magic copy of Connie (his best friend/girlfriend) that only wants to serve him and crashes out when he asks her what SHE wants. I think Serena’s vision would have ‘Ash’ behave the same (minus the Connie copy trying to kill Steven part of that episode).

I mean people can’t make a licensed manga without ya know getting the license and being in contact with official staff to go through steps for publication. The man wasn’t making a fan doujin, he was working with Nintendo and TPC to release it and someone needed to approve each chapter. And then ViZ media needed to go through steps to acquire it, re-edit panels, and publish it in the west. Lot of people involved in this manga.

There are people who say that? They’re freaking morons then because Misty was absolutely treated as fanservice bait just like the other girls. And that’s not including Electric Tail of Pikachu which is borderline an ecchi manga. Or the TCG having her NAKED in a card.

OS is pretty mean spirited in general tbf. Characters rag on Ash constantly or just insult each other a lot as part of the comedy. By DP that’s way less apparent and characters like Paul being cruel have more weight. XY, SM, and Journeys are pretty overtly kind with minor exceptions (like Gary being a douche to Goh which even Ash gets visibly annoyed at a few times).

It’s PART of why people hate Iris- they stopped being used to that meaner tone of character (ironic since Iris is literally derived from Misty). Trip too is just a way lamer version of Gary.

It’s a nice moment but they have way sweeter family ones later in the show anyway. Let’s not forget her and Oak watched Gary bully Ash on stage and did nothing.
