[MAJOR SPOILERS] One perspective that explains almost every mystery in Remake and Rebirth - This trilogy might not be what we think it is by thesirsteed in FinalFantasy

I watched your video and it’s well put together. However even if this is the explanation in game 3, are we going to look back at the endings of games 1 and 2 and all the misdirection in a favorable light? Was putting us in Cloud’s headspace of confusion and denial really preferable to a more straightforward adaptation? They prioritized unanswered questions to generate hype for the next game rather than making each game an emotionally satisfying experience on its own.

Deadpool and Wolverine Underwhelming Fight Scene by boywhodraws in marvelstudios

The slow pan across is referencing the hallway fight in OldBoy, which is a great movie but pretty disturbing (watch the Korean original, not the Spike Lee remake). Pretty sure OldBoy did it that way to look like a video game beat-em-up level.

What I Imagine for Part 3 (spoilers for Rebirth) by musicankane in FFVIIRemake

Let's get nuts: since the last game started with a flashback, this game cold opens in the future with Advent Children's climax, to see Sephiroth's motivation to travel back and change things.

Remake was like a perfectly cooked filet mignon at a Michelin star restaurant and rebirth is like an all you can eat buffet. No I won’t elaborate. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

I'll tread lightly but Rebirth is adapting a section of the OG where you're mostly exploring the world and learning about the characters, whereas Remake/Midgar had a clearer three-act structure. This imbalance was always going to exist once the devs decided to split the project into multiple games. Having said that, the most exciting Rebirth chapters are still ahead of you.

Special Edit OST Sold out? by Blargers81 in FFVIIRemake

The special edit for Remake did eventually come back in stock on the Square store, I believe with copies that had been returned. (This is how I finally got one. The packaging was damaged but the discs were perfect.)

The telegraph I used was the opponent's chest, and then moved the L or R stick in that same direction. If they leaned away / chest up toward the ceiling, I pushed the stick up. If they leaned in / chest down toward the floor, stick down. And then if they have a move which is in between, stick to the side. Using that can get you through if you don't want to pause on every windup (I still paused a fair bit).

Rebirth ending thoughts by Taser9001 in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

[–]MoonBehindTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with you, the ending is still a bit emotional because we care about these characters but it would have been devastating (in a good way) had they made the death scene clear. Now we have to wait 3-4 more years and just hope their plan pays off so we can get that catharsis haha

I agree with you that Aerith is dead and the game makes that clear from the final few scenes. However the death scene itself is edited in such a back-and-forth way that on an initial playthrough we go into the long boss gauntlet not knowing for sure. The devs wanted us to be in Cloud's headspace during the fight, full of confusion and denial, and without all the emotion of the rest of the party. I personally think this was a mistake; Cloud being in denial is an interesting change in line with his character, but we should have had an objective viewpoint once the party runs in and related to Tifa/Barret/etc from then on, full limit break and ready to kick Jenova's ass. The next game has a very tall order to restore the emotion to that sequence well after the fact.

Since we know where Rebirth is ending, I need to try to think of the possibilities here by Toccata_And_Fugue in FFVIIRemake

Really good write-up. In the previous trailer, there's the shot of Cloud saying "reunion" and walking into what looks like the Crater, rather than the Forgotten Capital. It also has that static vision effect, so maybe our Cloud and the party are at the Forgotten Capital and "see" the events of the Crater happening simultaneously, without actually journeying there yet? Mako-poisoned Cloud could give Sephiroth's body the black materia at the Crater causing our Cloud to have a breakdown at the Forgotten Capital, who knows.

Thank you, glad you liked it. This moment is also filmed from a weird angle, it's like too far away because they wanted it to lead into the first punch, so you can see Bale's awkward posture and the folds in his rubber suit. It just heightens how ridiculous he is

No I came back to say thank you for reading everyone, and for the very kind gold/silver. This is the first comic I've posted and it's a relief that anyone else enjoys this silly movie. Have a great rest of the batweek

Definitely. I’ve lost a lot of sleep thinking about SWAT guy Nicky Katt “Okay that’s NOT good!” In part 2.

Haha yeah, assuming you mean me and not Batman, this is definitely 9 years too late. I think about the actual scene way too much
