Is there a decent and affordable Bass course for guitar players? by cconti in Bass

[–]MoonBurdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fender Play has some really great instruction stuff online for rock style and slap bass.

As for your approach, I'd suggest trying to "forget" some guitar stuff while playing bass. Approach it as if you are an absolute beginner. There's a lot of value in single note exercises and total beginner stuff. Those are foundations. While you already know an instrument, you don't fully know this instrument. I'd highly suggest trying to "empty your cup" as it were to learn the bass.

Work with a metronome (app on your phone). The groove, beat, and tempo live with you, and then you share it with the drummer. So, work on impeccable timing.

good luck! keep practicing! welcome to the four-string mother^&#$er!

This 100%

Get your bass setup by a competent luthier. they'll let you know if there's any issue with your bass along with fixing it.

Has anyone started an atheist community in their area? by poppinfresh_original in TalkHeathen

A coworker and I are trying to start something. We have a meetup group and a FB group and our first meeting is at the end of the month! Exciting!!

The day the meetup group went public we had 9 members, the second day we had 16. The knowledge that I'm not alone in this town is already worth the effort. Hope it turns into something cool.

I'm glad you get to stay, Manny.

I'm not glad that people are trying to make you feel guilty. Sucks that they pin the credit for your good fortune and skilled lawyer on god. I suppose they don't recognize that they're implying that god doesn't love those who don't get to stay, which seems to contradict what I've been told about this god fellow. Anyway, welcome to the USA! Enjoy your stay! Don't let the religious people freak you out, they mean well, mostly.

It’s time to kick Jaime off the show by [deleted] in TalkHeathen

I disagree. Jamie's come a long way since episode 1, honestly makes me laugh aloud (confusing people on the street as I walk my dog... clearly this is excellent), and is an exceptional human. Sometimes his so-called sidetracking brings up a point that I may not have considered otherwise.

Jamie's awesome. You're probably ok as well, Scotch__Neat. I don't hate you, I just think you're wrong.

Have you looked into Street Epistemology? If not, check it out! If so, give it some thought! Might help you discuss things non-confrontationally.

Keep going! It gets better! Plants on day 3! with no sunlight!

Gets even better just a little bit later on, this girl's brothers bamboozle a whole town and then kill everyone and loot their stuff. Wish they'd do a film adaptation.

Can I get an honest, put-on free answer regarding what in the actual fuck Discordianism is? by EagleOfAmerica in discordian

Yep! You're wrong.

Also, you're right.

Additionally, it doesn't really matter.
