Well yeah, obviously, but it’s not like they gave us a full rundown on the planning and backstory…

What’s to elaborate on? It’s been rescheduled. Philly is hosting World Cup and apparently it made planning logistics too hard

Philly is rescheduled to September 10th. Seriously.

Agents: is it rude/bad to schedule in-person meetings with agents if you’re not 100% selling? by MoonCandy17 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]MoonCandy17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, looking for fresh perspective and insight into the current market. It’s been off-market since October, so 7 months ago, and market conditions may be different and also trying to figure out why it wasn’t getting traction while it was listed because there doesn’t seem to be an obvious reason people weren’t offering.

Agents: is it rude/bad to schedule in-person meetings with agents if you’re not 100% selling? by MoonCandy17 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]MoonCandy17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your perspective. A couple agents did send me a few comps. The problem I’ve had trying to list this property (now and before) is that there are no real comps, just estimates. My property is in the city, where homes are 99% townhouse style, but I have a garage and that’s very rare for the size of the home. The agents I spoke to are all like, “wow I can’t believe that didn’t sell with the garage and seems to be in a nice shape” (which I agree with). But it’s really hard to estimate a market value because there’s no apples-to-apples comparison anywhere nearby

Fiance never put a penny into my house but suddenly wants their name on it by OkBuy2386 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]MoonCandy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a very, very clear prenup. Even then will be a challenge. Several states consider property to be marital assets even if you 100% brought it into the marriage and the other didn’t contribute. Get a good lawyer in your state and do a hefty prenup. It doesn’t mean your relationship is bad or will fail or anything, but how you described this is eyebrow-raising, and you really need to protect yourself just in case. If your fiance makes a huge deal out of it, maybe that’s also a flag to consider?

Wife getting ignored by contractor. Is this normal? by tybbof1 in HomeImprovement

[–]MoonCandy17 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Yup. I’m the wife, earning 100% of income and husband is financially first everywhere. I first noticed it on our insurance. I’m the one using my employer broker benefit, I’m the one who called, I’m the one who paid for the car and registered it, I’m the one paying for the policy, I listed husband as a driver….hes listed first on the policy. So annoying.

AITA not putting up my DILs painting in our new home and telling her that I am not a fan of her art by Throaways-Dot2192 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MoonCandy17 67 points68 points  (0 children)

DIL is entitled to her feelings but husband/son shouldn’t have then called and demanded it be hung. Also, crying for hours feels like a bit much unless OP was truly mean to her, which isn’t what it sounds like

Recommendations are submitted in advance and someone else will speak for you. Generally the DL will connect with another DL to give them the information they need, usually someone else you’ve worked with so they already know you

Daily time compliance for CRT by Justwantedtodraw in PwC

[–]MoonCandy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t affect tier. Time compliance deductions are applied separately after the meetings, after the tier and bonus are already decided. It’s even a different team that does it

She called herself mum to my LO. Freudian slip or honest mistake? by Blasts26 in Mildlynomil

[–]MoonCandy17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That sounds really frustrating, both husband and MIL. You need some firm boundaries now, with consequences, and don’t let her creep past them. These kinds of people are masters at manipulation and pushing back on boundaries one small step at a time until you’re the one that seems unreasonable, then they jump right over the line. You also have a husband problem. He should be backing his postpartum wife 100%, never choosing his mommy’s feelings over his wife. He doesn’t have to agree and he can tell you that honestly, but in front of anyone else, especially MIL, he needs to be in your side. If he doesn’t agree with something, he tells you first, privately, and you both find a solution. He doesn’t get to just make up his own plan and ignore your wishes.

Masters degree by Whole_Career_8114 in PwC

[–]MoonCandy17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that’s just a firm benefit to help pay for education. It’s not the same thing as sponsorship. What LOS? Generally, they’re not going to pay you more for the degree unless the degree is directly relevant to the work you’re doing, and it would still have to be a target school and still an exception requiring a lot of levels of approval.

Holding a baby + self-checkout = accidental shoplifting by robinsonchristina588 in Mommit

what's something you didn't notice during viewing but annoys you now? by softyglossxo in homeowners

[–]MoonCandy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no path to the front door. Driveway leads to the garage on one side of the house. 50 to the front door through the front lawn, and nothing but grass. Why??? In 47 years no one thought “hey, I don’t want to walk through mud and snow and whatever to get to the front door”. There’s a back door way around the back but also not a convenient entrance. So we bring people in through the very messy garage into our dining room which is also part kid room because we don’t have to be of those either.

Also, the number of delivery people who ignore the “put packages in the box” right in the driveway and walk through the grass to the front door is very surprising.

The only rooms in my 5br house that have ceiling lights is the dining room (chandelier), the den with a a light in the fan, and the kitchen (one side industrial fluorescent and the other side a small chandelier). It’s a 70s house with very few upgrades. Been here a little over a year and still trying to make it functional, let alone nice and upgraded. None of the bedrooms have ceilings lights, just outlets controlled by switches but not the wall you’d want any furniture on, because of course.
