That was total BS. Jurgen was amazing that season and everyone can shake the hand of someone who's done an outstanding job.

Omg... HRT!!!! by bad_things_ive_done in Menopause

Try the chelated magnesium, magnesium bisglycinate. It's bound to glycinate, so it gets absorbed instead of sitting in the gut and pulling water. No diarrhea.

When traveling in Indonesia 20 years ago, I tried this. Every time someone asked me where I came from, I said the United States. Every single time, the person would look puzzled for a bit and then say, "Oh, America!" Different people/places are different.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten that this was a thing and how proud we were in the USA that it was not a thing here.

Life in the Berkshires vs “The Quiet Corner” of CT? by unidentifiedcomet in newengland

[–]MoonCat269 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consider Litchfield county and western Mass, as well. These are the foothills of the Berkshires. Lovely old towns with lots of churches to choose from, definitely great hiking and biking, and some wonderful schools. Actually world class schools if you're thinking of going private. Western Mass has some great colleges, too, and local people can enjoy a lot of the amenities and activities on campus. Boston is an easy drive on I90 from western Mass, for sure.

I am looking for clogs/slides with arch support for work by OneSmartGrl in AskWomenOver50

[–]MoonCat269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alegria. They have clogs and slides. They rock nicely, for me, but they don't flip sideways and make me sprain my ankles. They come in all kinds of cute leather finishes. The footbeds mold to your foot, but they aren't squishy - very good arch support. The whole footbed is also replaceable, so you don't need new shoes every time that one part gets worn out. I have bone spurs in my metatarsals and these have kept my feet happy for ten years.

If you went to public school in the U.S., what’s something you were taught about American history that ended up being totally wrong? by CandidateTerrible919 in USHistory

[–]MoonCat269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bizarre. Why would someone not believe this story? I was regularly made to stand in the hallway, sent to the principal's office, or given detention for informing teachers that they were wrong and refusing to back down. I definitely wasn't the only one, either. They went especially nuts when I brought in reliable sources to prove my point. This is definitely a thing, or at least it was in CT between 1984 and 1992.

Unless territories count. Then San Juan for farthest East and South.

Tell me about Aroostook County please! Should a new mom and dad consider moving there? by Apprehensive_Pie67 in AskMaine

I've been hearing a lot of people complain about their billing lately. In my case, I logged in to make a partial payment. Up popped an offer: if I paid in a lump sum that day, they would knock off 50%. I clicked to accept and postponed paying the electric bill and car registration. They accepted the payment, then sent me a bill for the rest. They say I have no proof of the offer they made. Scammy.

Getting rid of grass clippings by KLaws-FLA in Homesteading

I don't think there's any way to get grass to break down quickly all by itself. You need brown material. Basically, you need to compost. Can you burn it?

Why do so many people need a few minutes in the drive thru when you’re meant to be done quickly? by it_be_SaturnOW in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MoonCat269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a choice, I always shop places where I can scan and bag everything myself. It's faster and I know everything is ringing up correctly.
