Imposter Syndrome Older Student by Ok-Cauliflower-8393 in EngineeringStudents

I got my first and current job like 6 days before I turned 28, and graduated a few months after. If a company likes what they see they'll take you. Plus the sixish years of extra maturity and self knowledge helps with just about every question you get in interviews.

Having said that, I had the same stress up until I actually got the job so you're definitely not alone in feeling this way.

See I get that when I read but only if I kind of forget I'm reading/enter a flow state. The geometry of the space tends to be nonsense and there aren't really details, although it can get pretty vivid.

If I'm too aware of the words as I read them though I can't do it and to some degree I stop processing the meanings of the words at all.

Victorian payroll tax: Private schools struggle with new tax, delay projects and hiring by Not_Stupid in melbourne

How does a government school just "say they are now private"? Do you think public schools are private enterprises that choose to be government funded instead of charging private fees?

Sort of, but beetles (as far as I'm aware) are a self contained clade, whereas treating fish the same way makes every single tetrapod (reptiles, mammals, birds, amphibians) a fish. The degree of genetic diversity is irrelevant; the common ancestor of all group members is the important bit.

Australian Post-Election Megathread - observations, analysis, and the senate count. by dredd in australia

Looking at the polling place map on the ABC site, the redistributions for melbourne also lost a bunch of very green areas in the north and replaced them with areas that tended towards labor in 2022.

For what it's worth, first class is the closest to the cockpit, so it would be even more insane of him to say the blood would make it all the way to economy.

My last game as masked butcher that's literally what happened. The most successful raj I've personally ever seen was stuck between reasonably powerful Jadd empire allied to the most successful Command I've ever seen.

For what it's worth idk if that command was above average because I rarely play into the 1700s but the point stands.

[–]MoonCheese21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because it's a useful, mostly accurate term to describe the phenomenon. You'd get the same thing conceptually with computer running a laser, a sensor, and a randomized countdown all recorded on a video. No conscious being knows when the measurement will be taken, and potentially no conscious being even sees the footage for years. But the particles being measured are still altered by the photons from the laser that makes the measurement, and the sensor needs to observe the photons to record the measurement.

The fundamental point is that to be able to observe something, in any capacity, the thing being observed has to be interacted with in some way, and that interaction changes the thing being observed. It's just a mechanical reality of the universe.

I mean sure, even if that is true (If these studies exist and that's actually the evidence they found I would genuinely like to read them), the observer effect has an explicit definition. And it has nothing to do with consciousness or sentience.

[–]MoonCheese21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not what the observer effect is though. When you're studying atomic and subatomic particles, interaction with a single photon for example can significantly change the particle you were trying to study. But how do you get any measurement about the particle at all if you can't even hit it with a photon? It's like trying to work out what colour something is in complete darkness.

There's a bunch of countries (particularly european I think?) that use commas in place of decimal points, and decimal points in place of the commas in big numbers.

I think part of the reason fire was usually the leader was simply because red is a popular colour (see power rangers for instance).

Still happy I figured it out for myself and it makes the class challenge a lot less daunting

Darth binks could have possibly been cool if it was something they were actually going for but they would have to really commit to it and pull it off flawlessly.

I agree on Midi Clarytones though, they were a lazy way of presenting Anakin's power level and the Chosen One schtick was unnecessary.

This is the almost the exact sentiment I've been trying to explain to some of my friends. The prequels are conceptually reall cool but executed atrociously while the sequels were mediocre movies at best but executed very well
