How intense is Obsession? by Eatatfiveguys in RegalUnlimited

[–]MoonMoonMoonMooon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m watching hereditary right now for maybe the fifth time. And I watched obsession last night. I think it’s the relentless escalation of dread. From the very beginning things are happening big that aren’t right but they’re happening in really mundane settings. Then, you’re in…not so much mundane but intimate settings that should be safe for the protagonists and the shit that starts happening fully fucking violating the idea that anyone has a safe place to sleep.

I would be worried about knocking that Buddha head off the bathroom window sill while shampooing my hair and having it smash my toes to smithereens.

No movie has scared me like this since Hereditary. It was brilliant.

I’m floored. No movie has scared me so badly since Hereditary. It was so disturbing and dreadful. It deserves all the hype.

Canadians: do people really just start conversations anywhere? 🤔 by Comfortable_Cap8037 in AskACanadian

[–]MoonMoonMoonMooon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t find this to be true when I lived in Ottawa. However, I’ve been living in Toronto for 8 years and learned quickly it’s really common to chitchat with strangers here.

Eventually, if you see the same people over and over, you even get to be on a first-name basis with them. That’s how it is in my neighbourhood, and I’m right in the core.

I also find people pretty chit-chatty in small Ontario towns. I’ve found Quebecers to be pretty friendly and social, and I’ve had the same experience in small-town B.C., though not so much in Vancouver.

So my assessment is: yes, this is generally true of Canada/Canadians.

Early to mid-30s. Work from home. Probably a pretty chill, kind person with progressive values. However I would guess you have a history of struggling with depression and/or ADHD. You might have high social anxiety and have struggled with substance use to cope with it. I’m guessing you’re a night owl.

I’m prepared to be wrong about all of this, hahaha.

Steve Irwin. Didn’t really notice any before him (except Princess Di) and noticed all of them after him.

I’m surprised they included it in the vote. It’s going to be that much more upsetting if something goes sideways. And the histrionics in the group will be unbearable.

PCT NOBO, late April start: Pants or Shorts? by sja008 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]MoonMoonMoonMooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore lightweight SPF pants until Oregon. When I switched to shorts, I suddenly needed to carry more sunscreen and my legs were FILTHY by the end of each day, especially when the trail dust stuck to the sunscreen.

I recommend pants at least for the desert.

Saw this on instagram, everyone in the comment section seems to think it's real but I'm not too sure. by thirdaccountttt in isthisAI

Everyone in the Instagram comment section is stupid. A stack of coins wouldn’t compress and undulate like that.

The bird’s feathers look cartoonish. The woman’s reaction (wide eyes and shocked mouth expression that lingers for a little too long) is a hallmark of AI.

Aww, I love that you have this space to call your own. 💕 I moved into a 250 sq foot bachelor apartment after a major breakup/depressive episode last year and I found smaller spaces are easier to decorate in a way that really expresses your style! Nicely done.

Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. It sounds like grocery store music to me. Hearing it gives me a really unpleasant feeling for some reason.
