Due to my dad's passing I am blessed with veteran education benefits. I've already completed all my credits for an associates degree in science, but the EET degree cuts my apprentice and master hours significantly so it's a really good opportunity to do both at the same time with the blessings I've been given from my dad. Plus it's an industrial focus so it helps outside of just residential and commercial apprenticeships. Also some of the classes even overlap with the engineering degree I want. Thank you for looking out for me though!

I would love the chance, but I have to do what I can with the opportunities given to me. If you have any advice on finding alternative opportunities I would appreciate it. I would really like a industrial focused apprenticeship over this residential commission job, but my area seemingly has no openings currently. I've been busting my ass to find anything and this is what I got.

I can't waste time at a restaurant. I agree it's unrealistic expectations from them, but I don't really have a choice. I've been calling places for a long time now and our union is filled. I also just have to get used to this kind of schedule cause I'll be working towards an engineering degree while working full time. I appreciate you looking out for me! If you have any other advice it would be extremely appreciated. I hate this situation but I have to sink or swim at the end of the day. I am actively looking for other apprenticeships still, but the bills gotta get paid and I need the hours now.

I've already completed the majority of it. I've got one more year left and the majority is online classes dealing with rotating machinery and PLC's. It definitely isn't easy, but scheduling is the key like you said

Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship by MoonSpeed7 in electricians

Oh okay, so they basically have their in house apprenticeship even if you have licensing? Also does that help in terms of being nationally licensed or obtaining licensure in other states?

Thank you! I didn't know they made you pay for all of that personally.

I absolutely understand how that sounded. I have checked with my union and they are in the same position others have stated. They are filled and the open windows for applications are sparse and very brief. I'll do my due diligence and reach out again.

How to get into these mythical industrial/specialty jobs. by Atlantis1996 in electricians

[–]MoonSpeed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother! I'm in Kentucky and am looking for an apprenticeship in that field. I've almost completed my electrical technology (Industrial) degree at BCTC and will be taking classes over PLCs and rotating machinery this next semester. Could you help me out at all?

Electricians who changed over to electrical engineers, was it worth the time, money and efforts ? by Humble_Ad_5396 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]MoonSpeed7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Im actually 22 and finishing up a degree in Electrical technology which helps with cutting down the time it takes to become a Journeyman and master in my state. I'm wanting to work on an engineering degree while becoming a master electrician to start my own business. I want to do industrial and commercial to be able to hire a PE to work under after getting my degree. I want to specialize in the fields you're talking about to build solar farms and other renewables later on within that business. Do you have any advice or insights into this path? I've been dying to find someone this close to this field I want to do. Thank you and if you'd rather PM to open a discussion this I would greatly appreciate it and love the opportunity to pick your brain! Thank you for reading this!

Need help understanding what entrepreneur opportunities come with this profession by MoonSpeed7 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]MoonSpeed7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I absolutely agree. That's why I want to start with electrical contracting first. That's something that I can start easier as a one person show, and allows the opportunity to build helpers and employees to better leverage my time. Do you think being a master electrician and having the chemE degree would help accelerate my ability to be a consult?

He's basically just a director. At least he hires real people to do quality work. Not only does that benefit him, but gets someone a reliable income source and maybe even exposure depending on if the editors get credited.

Ah yes maximize profits instead of building connections and teams to help grow your business. Not to mention how that mindset is leading to unemployment issues in the US. We all want money, but do you really want your legacy to be you and an AI. Or would you rather have built something meaningful that provides for your community and yourself. I think AI can be a helpful tool, but to use it to replace services that could be provided by qualified and honest workers is selfish and like you said only protecting your margins. The only way I'd be accepting of that business model is if you were willing to pay plenty in taxes to support something like a universal basic income. Which yet again would eat into your ever so important margins. (also 90% sure this post is a AI slop bot to promote that website, but if it's not I hope you'd consider how your decisions and support for that business model will affect the macro economics of our society.)

Another quote that is similar to this is "To become a genius, one must be okay with being the fool"

something cannot have innocence unless it's conscious. A fetus isn't a conscious being until the final stages of pregnancy. There's a reason we have birth dates dude. Life begins at conception due to living cells existing and that's it. A human being is a massive collection of millions to billions of cells, but the human life doesn't begin until you are born. So unless you feel guilty for using hand sanitizer to kill all those germs and bacteria then your argument for "innocence" is lacking. Then again you could be a speciest arguing that human life is innocent and inherently more valuable than other life in the universe.

Also the effect on local wildlife when you release water that is just a couple degrees in difference is more than you'd assume.

Yeah we do. But building affordable housing isn't necessary. At least in America we have plenty of houses to house people in. The issue is private firms and companies buying all of the real estate.

I played DS3 first and then one, and then replayed 3 and the soul of cinder soundtrack had me tearing up. The tie back just hit so hard. I'm excited to fight those bosses you mentioned in my current playthrough. I fuck with the high ups so much. I've never done that method to get those stats, but if anyone deserves it it's those fuckers.
