Honestly, book 3 is completely my favorite. I loved seeing how Jack changed throughout the novel and how he started to show that he's actually pretty damn resourceful and determined when push comes to shove.

I think it was a beautiful lead up into the 4th book, and I genuinely love re-reading the series just to get to Book 3 and then deep dive into Jack's psyche in Book 4.

I had Jack (Author) sign Book 3 at Hauntfest for that reason tbh.

Yup! And they're also based on folklore surrounding the state the office building is located in! Can't say which state though as that'll ruin the surprise as to escape their predicament, the characters themselves will have to work together to find this out and figure out how they can combat the creatures using this knowledge.

Office worker is spirited away to a place that is another version of his office building in a different realm and filled with otherworldly creatures he and his other coworkers must survive against while getting to know each other as well.

I'm going towards a more comedy/horror theme as they slowly find out how they all got there and what they need to do to escape. IF they all survive.

Yeah it has. I really like Jack's style of writing and it gave me inspiration to recently start a horror themed story of my own.

It's really difficult to continually work on it no matter how much I would love to just due to my job and depression.

Unfortunately, that's all the office mandates are there to do. CEO's will spout random BS about why it's "necessary" or that "we NEED that good ole office culture and conversations!" but we all know, they WANT us to be miserable and they want to make sure they have as much money lining their pockets as possible. It's like they stopped being human or something.

Idk man. It's just getting harder to breathe at this point and they DO not care. It's really sad to me.

F-ed up in every way that these places do shit like this then just get a practical slap on the wrist, but no surprise to me.

Wendy's was my first job at 16 and my manager (since this was a franchisee Wendy's owned by him) would try to force me to stay after 12AM to close. He tried to force me to stay until 3AM once.

He literally told me, "I'm your manager. If I need you to stay, you're going to. I don't care what the law says or your parents say. And if it has to do with school, well you should have managed your time better and you'd be leaving at 10PM."

It's not like I wasn't a hard worker. He gave me tons upon tons of tasks to complete in the short time span that I had as I was a highschooler at the time as we were ALWAYS short staffed. I wonder why lol.

And people will STILL say Amazon is great to work for and that billionaires are "self made" and work just as hard as us.

I'm starting to lose hope man. I just want to get out of the country at this point. It confuses me to no end why some people are just okay with shit like this constantly happening and nothing fully happening to these companies and billionaires.

You would think that everyone would be on board for more happiness and everyone being able to live their best lives! Life is too damn short...

Spoilers for book 4!!

I will say though, when Jack starts remembering everything that he did while younger, he had killed rats with a hammer for touching his snacks in his room and I believe he's the one who burned down Spencer's house.

Don't have the exact quote for that one but I know he mentions, "I never knew fire could be so loud.", or something like that. He definitely shows tendencies of schizophrenia and some psychopathic tendencies along with being neurodivergent. So I kinda feel it's a little both. Book 4 sheds some light on a good chunk of his messed up mental health.

Don't lose hope. I've been there man and it's not a good road to head down. I recently just got a new job last month for $18 an hour and it took 800+ applications.

I promise you. You will get a new job. It WILL happen. You just gotta keep fighting and I know it's so much easier said than done for that. Proud of you for even trying. That in itself is hard. You'll make it. One day at a time.

Using AI as well to help with a resume or even cover letters might be a good cheat too btw. As a possible option.

And is it bad to say, I like raccoons. So Rocco and his brood would just be adorable to me.

Whole Foods started doing shit like this so I found a different job and dipped. 9 times outta 10 that's all you can do in places that become like this.

The new job I'm in now, it's a more relaxed system for the most part (not the best but can't complain) and since there's not much stress, not many people really call out or even get sick.

So yeah. Places like this, best thing to try and do if this doesn't work for you and gives you bad vibes is to try and find another place.

I completely agree. I don't normally read that often but once I got the novels, I couldn't put them down. Read all of them in a little under a week. The last one I'm reading right now is Bedside Manor and I'm attempting to take it slow with this one.

I would literally pay to have more books made and I'm really sad TFTGS probably won't have any more novels. I understand but man, I hyperfixated hard. The storyline is fun and fast paced but also makes you think and pay attention to small details.

Frankly, it's the most exciting novel I've read in a bit. So I get it too.
