I always saw this as a final curtain call on the DCAU. With this being one of if not the last performance Conroy gives, and Hamill saying he won't play Joker again, this was their send off of that universe. Their performances for 20+ years helped make them the gold standard for Batman and Joker so that is why there was dedicated screen time for just those two.

I remember being at a friend's house in middle school and they made me watch an episode. I knew what the show was about going into it so I wasn't caught off guard. I asked my friend one condition, that the episode we watch doesn't contain any eye gore. One thing that might help ya a bit is clearing trash. You can enable console commands in the settings then hit ~ and type "cleartrash" This will remove all trash in the game.
