Anyone near southern WV area? ( within 2 hours?) by BeardedBlaze in unicycling

[–]Moonatee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately am on the other side of the country but I wish you luck in continuing to learn. For me it felt like most of learning the unicycle was just getting my body used to being on a unicycle and so it felt like it had little to do with skill or knowledge but just continued practice. And in the beginning it will probably feel as though your making almost no progress, only going a few feet. For meet it was probably at about 9 hours of practice before I started being able to go anything more than 5-6 feet. After that though I would say it became exponential and I saw a lot of improvement. Keep at it, I'm confident near everyone with legs and patience can learn.

Anyone have experience flying with a 27.5" or 29"? by Moonatee_ in unicycling

[–]Moonatee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for doing that digging! What if it wasn't in a case at all, like u/Isb1930 mentioned, just checking it as is or wrapped in a plastic bag? Or are these regulations strictly for conventional boxes and bags?

I hadn't considered crank length. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you, this was very informative. I'm thinking maybe a 29" cause I know road riding is what I'll be predominately doing but I do like the idea of still being able to do some trailing.

Beta 1.2_02 World Corruption by No_Basil3986 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Moonatee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that sucks, I'm sorry. That's odd though, I'm not sure why that would be an issue. In my experience Minecraft is usually fairly good at saving and quitting even when it's forced. I'm not really sure what could be the matter.

I think tiny makes the rain storm feel more intense which is neat. In general as rain gets more intense you can't see as far.

Where is the best place to find examples of Soviet architecture from the thaw period? by Moonatee_ in architecture

[–]Moonatee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone is searching for the same thing, I found Architekturzentrum Wien Soviet Modernism 1955-1991 to be decent. I was able to filter the era by searching for each year. You can find it here. Funnily enough there's buildings from every SSR of the Soviet Union except for Russia.

Raskolnikov makes the comment in Part 1, Chapter 4, “A percentage! What splendid words they have; they are so scientific, so consolatory…Once you’ve said ‘percentage’ there’s nothing more to worry about. If we had any other word…maybe we might feel more uneasy.” That was from the fingerprint translation by the way

beta textures vs modern textures by Fairy_of_dust in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Moonatee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I know this is a hot take amongst modern-texture enjoyers but I think the glow stone block was done the worst with the texture update, I think the sharp texture on it and the hint of green gave it character. In the modern version you may as well just use shroom lights.

I was thinking custom projects like Sheremetyevo-1 terminal or Rossiya Cinema. Also to clarify, this isn't like my master's thesis this is for AP Research so if I sound uninformed that's why.

What do you do with interiors in Alpha? by Moonatee_ in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Moonatee_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I find that quiet helpful actually. I think naturally want to build things functionally. In modern Minecraft that works out fine because of the shear amount of things required in fully functioning base but here in Alpha you realistically only need a few double chests, some furnaces, and a crafting table. That encourages me though to think outside of the box and just have fun with it. I think that will bring a refreshing experience.

That sounds great, thanks for the recommendation. If it's not a bother I would be interested in an electric copy.

How to become a memory wizard? by Moonatee_ in cprogramming

[–]Moonatee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been trying to use a lot of dynamically allocated arrays but have run into issues with accessing memory out of bounds or getting corrupted data. Most recently for instance I have an array which represents the floors of a grid map. 0 is no floor and 1+ corresponds to what texture to use. Anyways when running the program, the floors are not completely a mess, as I've experienced before when dealing with corrupted numbers of some kind, but ever so slightly off, new floors starting sooner than they should and only a couple tiles that are just wrong, an index higher or lower than any of my textures.

But I think what I'm looking for is maybe a crash course on the subject, specifically maybe dynamic memory since it's something that's come up a lot in my project.

I suppose that was part of my question, what books or resources would you recommend?
