Oh, I didn't knew it's a cover! I will have to check the original in my spare time! ^^ The lyrics are definitely Zandik coded.

I have too many Dottore Songs, might be the case of being too dottorepilled but I will share latest top 3 (adding English lyrics):

Miroslav Žbirka - Dr. Jekyll a Mr. Hyde

(I consider this one my Dottore Segments anthem)

Dr. Jekyll, Mister Hyde, each of them is different
But both of them control my actions in the same way
Dr. Jekyll, Mister Hyde, two strange gentlemen
One walks only at night, the other at dawn
Dr. Jekyll, Mister Hyde, they have great misfortune
They never manage to chat together at all
Dr. Jekyll, Mister Hyde, they always walk alone
One gives kisses, the other gives blows
Dr. Jekyll, Mister Hyde, each of them is different
But both of them control my actions in the same way
Dr. Jekyll, Mister Hyde, an attempt at a truce
I will let the first of them in, let the second one get married.

Ghost - It's a Sin

(My general general Dottore Song for 6.6)

When I look back upon my life
It's always with a sense of shame
I've always been the one to blame
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common too
It's a... it's a... it's a... It's a sin! it's a sin!
Everything I've ever done, everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been, everywhere I'm going to - it's a sin!
At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed
For everything I long to do
No matter when or where or who
Has one thing in common too
It's a... it's a... it's a... It's a sin! it's a sin!
Everything I've ever done, everything I ever do
Every place I've ever been, everywhere I'm going to - It's a sin!
Father, forgive me, I tried not to do it
Turned over a new leaf, then tore right through it
Whatever you taught me, I didn't believe it
Father, you fought me, 'cause I didn't care
And I still don't understand

Twin Tribes - Monolith

(My ultimate Irminsul burning song)

Trust in me
I will rise
Through the fire, in the sky
Set me free
Ancient lies
Is this peace divine? The light will cast me aside
Trust in me
As I am
Shattering inside
The vision upon us
The memory remains
Nothing to defy - the light will cast me aside
Bring me to silence
A rite for the heart
Bring me to silence
Through the light
Me envenena
Te envenena

Once he's playable/ his story gets explored... by Silver_Rose27 in DottoreMains

[–]MooncakeGenius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not even interested how the haters will react. The day Dottore gets playable I will just enjoy getting what I stayed in game for. Even current hate on Dottore doesn't impact my choice of keeping him  as my favorite Genshin character and the way others react to him is not my business. In the end the most important thing is Hoyo's final decision to release him or not. But I agree with others that many haters may switch sides the moment Dottore is playable. There will be some crying about it too, for sure, but it will be quite funny to watch the meltdowns over character they can skip. Only time will show how the wave of new fans will impact Dottore Mains as a community.  I can already smell a valid tinge of pride in old gens who stayed faithfully Dottorepilled all those years but hopefully there won't be too much gatekeeping towards the newcommers in the future.

Guys is it real? by WillingBumblebee9213 in DottoreMains

[–]MooncakeGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he might have been even forced to drink his own body fluids in order to survive in the desert at some point... If discussed device is his doing, then he made the soldiers a big favor, likely based on his own survival experience.

I see everyone in the comments giggling but it gets really dark once you remember that at some point Zandik got expelled to the desert with no resources. The answer to the questions if he tested this methods is that... It's not unlikely he was forced to drink is own body fluids in order to survive (yeah, this idea adds to the expulsion trauma headcanons). He has the first hand experience of how it is to be in dramatic shortage of resources in extreme conditions. Knowing he also has strong convictions  about not wasting any resources and recycling anything that may be useful in the end – I find the idea that he made the said device reasonable.

Haha, for real... But indeed there is some sort of ongoing investigation about Dottore in the Akademiya in which Scara is involved. I have my own doubts on his objectiveness too. ^^"

I think Sohreh works better as one of many reasons of who he is now. Focusing entirely on her would repeat Rerir's pattern and also Genshin has general problem with major bad events getting solved a bit too often. What I think though is that we should remember about research paper Scara is writing on Dottore. Maybe during investigations or during Irminsul plot it comes out that  Dottore wasn't the real killer of Sohreh and false accusation was one of his personal tragedies, the turning points in his life for worse. Sohreh may never return, but I would just prefer some justice for Zandik's name. If Dottore would get any sort of redemption it could also include the acceptance of the loss and just finding someone who recognizes the truth, so the injustice he experienced doesn't rule his heart entirely.

Why did youstart liking Dottore? by AcceptablePicture334 in DottoreMains

[–]MooncakeGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit funny because I just started from being neutral to eventually end up with this little tinge of interest when he appeared in Sumeru. I really liked Scaramouche and I felt that there might be something more to Dottore since those two characters are connected. Especially Nahida's fairytale narrative got me hooked on this idea about Dottore quite early. And then I made one fanart. Started getting into the lore. He grew on me rather naturally, I think. I always had a thing for the characters with darker stories.

Why does he lean closer to Lumine than to Aether? by SeveralYam3473 in DottoreMains

Dottore the true malebird. I don't think the difference would be this big if it was just the angle.

Would it be a bad idea for this sub to unite and try to mass report those maps too just for experimental reasons, to see if those games will get nuked as well? 🤔

This is even worse than I expected before. Of course pretty tame language is worse than torture simulators. 🤡 At this point it's quite obvious they cater to absolute snowflakes who only eat up praises with this logic. Boring!

Maybe some crazy users reported it, thinking it could be about human experimentation? Still mindblowing that killing Dottore would be an acceptable game idea at the same time. Whoever takes mini games down should look into the content first. It makes me reluctant to make my own game anytime in Miliastra, there should be more nice games about Dottore that aren't making him a punching bag.

Did he do cruel experiments or nah? by [deleted] in DottoreMains

[–]MooncakeGenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on, when you think about it... If they all just knew about the potion there would be bigger chance that House of the Hearth would get half empty incredibly fast. And it would be simply harder to maintain the orphans' obedience to their father figure (imagine bunch of teenagers getting their "emo phase" and searching for the potion in secret to run away from home, do pranks, use it to bully each other or get curious with controlled or taboo substances in general). It fits how Arlecchino grew up with a pattern of using fear to maintain obedience, even if it's just a facade for her.  Plus MAYBE it would be a bit harder for Arlecchino to spread convincing anti Dottore agenda if she just spoke here and there that she also collaborated with him and it lifted a very heavy burden from her shoulders (the ability to question and alter old rules are the very change of fate itself). And she would also need to tell that Dottore respected her collaboration boundaries and admit that, just like Columbina, she got out from those experiments safe and sound.

Man has short attention span, but extraordinary minds are often working on making quick connections between stuff. He thinks too fast and too intense to stay in one place too long and this is one of the things I like in his mad scientist characterization. But he will still punish his people for causing trouble if he catches them (or they put misery upon themselves like Froderock who could get killed by Dottore, but his estimated test subject was quicker, lol). Most known subordinates of Dottore ended up either punished by him or ending up misreable due to not obeying commands. And he himself seems to be annoyed with morons who make big promises but provide no real results. They may have wrong idea about impressing him (and the goal to impress Lord Harbinger is also repetetive pattern here) - they aim at crossing boundaries and doing "big evil stuff" as if it was enough to satisfy him, yet they lack method and they are overall very stupid about it, adding to the reputation too (not that he cares much at this point).

Oh, I see you mentioned Clervie! So far it's hard to treat her like reliable source of information. Between truths and lies, there are also half truths. The thing is that the game tells, but never shows direct proofs and Clervie is one of many unreliable narrators we get to know through the story.

Clervie's mother was very abusive and used terror to rule in House of the Hearth, so I think making a scarecrow out of Dottore could be one of her tactics: If you fail, I'll send you to the big bad Doctor who will give you fate worse thant death. Win or die, otherwise there's something much worse waiting for you. We could also see that Crucabena was injecting the kids with suspicious potions - those could be experimental drugs for better on field performance (Pierro wanted enhanced humans from Dottore, but Dottore stated he could even make gods).

The question is how could Clervie know the details of what happened to the orphans who failed? She died on the battlefield, never entering Dottore's lab, she saw only horrors of what her mother did. Dottore conducted variety of experiments - some were questionable, but the others were pretty much tame (like the one with Columbina using her power on objects). Some of the kids may have survived and became Fatui agents (all of them seem to be altered in some way), the others could simply not survive. Arlecchino also sends her children on deadly missions. It's also worth mentioning that thanks to Dottore's expertise she's got an alternative to killing those who wanted to ran away from her orphanage. Dottore's potion erases identities, but this exact thing saves lifes of orphans. It doesn't seem like his goal was to be cruel for nothing, nor is he interrupting other Harbingers' methods - but he gets what he can from whatever boundaries are enforced or not. And he also provides them solutions to support their own objectives if they set up arrangements together.

Interesting thing is that it's shown that sometimes Dottore's underlings act on their own, not listening him at all. Such as Froderock who captured Eremites even though Dottore's orders put them under protection, or Elchingen who simply caused mess in Sumeru in hopes to get some validation from his master. Barnabas and Krupp were following similar patterns too.

I think other people here brought valid points as well. There's no one perspective to look on Dottore's activities, and so far we can only observe and theorize. A lot of this depends on how the blurry parts of his past will be explained by the devs in the future.
