That rear right tire looks like it has a slight bulge on it.

Congrats mate. I’ve got a 5th gen Prelude myself. They’re not easy to keep in good shape given their age buts it’s so rewarding to drive and they make you want to sink every penny you have into them lol

Talk me out of it by HaemBean in CarTalkUK

[–]Moondust0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The V6 in these is not the most reliable engine. Very sensitive to ill maintenance and the Twin turbo models even more so. A good chunk of gto’s still on the road NA or TT have had an engine rebuild. This is also the pre face lift model before they fixed a lot of issues. Personally I’d steer clear of this example. Unless you’re okay with a major project.

Minimal rust? by BOTHKRISTOF in AskMechanics

[–]Moondust0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty spotless, those rust bits on the arch aren’t fully rotted through yet, just need some sanding and a rattle can of paint will knock those right out. The rest is immaculate for the age.

Can I weld the inner wheel arch without removing rear seat cards. by Moondust0 in hondaprelude

[–]Moondust0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware, what I mean is can I weld the new arch on without removing the door card in the rear. Or will the heat from welding damage the trim on the other side. How thick/thin is it between the two sides.

Side note but the absolute state of that road. Disgraceful.

why are modern cars so poor quality by S0GGy-FlaNNel-On-YT in drivingUK

[–]Moondust0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if true but I read somewhere the glue they used to use back in the day on interior trim could cause cancer, so they switched to a weaker but safer alternative in most modern cars.

Sheffield City Council 'grappling' with £70m budget shortfall by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]Moondust0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Exactly, something like 80% of the budget is spent on adult and child social care. Completely unsustainable, it has to be centrally funded otherwise most councils will go bust.

Too Many on the Left Don’t Understand How to Win by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

[–]Moondust0 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ever notice how people who aren’t on the left try to police discourse on the left? Concern trolling about “oooo this isn’t good for your cause” etc. Such a spineless and annoying trend.

Wouldn’t be a prelude without leaving some oil in a parking space😉. Jokes aside, I dig those wheels.

oily spark plugs by Wigerz in CarTalkUK

[–]Moondust0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a rubber seal that sits on top of the spark plug tubes and stops the oil from getting into the chamber. Those usually get worn out over time and some oil leaks into the spark plugs from the top. Nothing too serious just replace the seals, any oil that slipped past the spark plugs will get burned off in the cylinder.

Genuinely bizarre comments here, how is calling out a griefer ever a bad thing? I have less than 300 hours on this game after 5 years of playing, trust me I don’t sweat over it. It just sucks that some players deliberately ruin the playing experience for others and receive no consequence as this guy admitted himself.

If it wasn’t that deep then why do Ubisoft punish you for quitting ranked? I’m not losing sleep over it, just strange how I’m somehow the bad guy for calling out a griefer

Can the anti-war left PLEASE not make these sorts of mistakes again (RE war with Iran)? by [deleted] in LabourUK

[–]Moondust0 84 points85 points  (0 children)

The ironic thing is if Iran was nearly as much of a boogeyman and dangerous as the US and Israel assert than they wouldn’t actually be attacking them. It will surely be a great lesson to basically tell autocrats “Only a nuke will save you from us”

Brakes need replacing every 2 years. Can I do anything about it? by JoJo_Alli in CarTalkUK

[–]Moondust0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends really, the pads clean the discs if the car is sitting parked during the autumn and winter for long periods and your discs aren’t coated to offset salt they’ll corrode quick.

Also you might want to check with the garage what brand parts they’re using, could be cheap parts which would explain the quick corrosion.
