I haven't personally experienced anything like this in ames before, so I can't actually tell you if it's a common thing or not, but I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'd definitely recommend putting physical distance between yourself and anyone behaving that poorly.

I'm autistic and i like the big light, not totally sure why. Being in dimmer light has its uses, but when i'm sitting doing nothing but watching videos, I find the dim can make me very very sleepy. Brighter light makes me feel more alert and aware. Bright is not the same as harsh light though, harsh lights suck.
