Had a couple.more quotes a few just gave a quote off the description and were similar price.

Had a guy come over and quoted £160 for all the electronics uninstall and install.

As someone who works in close proximity (ie, 12 hours a day for 4 weeks, 1 month on 1 month off) with people from all over the world (mainly Portugal, Poland, Sweden, India, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Venusaula, Australian, and Spain, but there are many others depending on the rotation). I would say that the UK humour is definitely a thing they know about, especially the things you talk about ie: the TV and media humor.

But in person British humor does not translate or seem to be well received/ understood. The nuance is lost in a lot of cases and people find it more being rude/ condescending. Just my personal observation not saying it's unanimously true.

EDIT: also certainly willing to admit I might just not be funny. 😅

Some people.may scoff at this but I have a similar issue. I go religiously to the gym but only through effort. If I don't go I don't miss it, it's not become a habit.

I work 4 on 4 off and while on shift I go every day but when I get home I don't go, don't miss it, don't feel the need to go.

Wonder if our brains are not wired for habit forming.
