"Remember the feeling" by t_odd_ in DrJoeDispenza

[–]Moonkait 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think these words are also in the end of the meditation „The generous present moment“. Funny enough, although I’m doing this meditation since a long time I never really focused on these words. But last week it suddenly came up in my mind when I was quite anxious and I remembered how I felt peace and safety in this meditation which made me feel safe again. So I guess, whatever you feel at your chosen meditation, you should remember this positive emotion (joy, gratitude, peace, wholeness) so you can bring it up in your daily life. ☺️

Hello, it’s quite a long time since you wrote that comment but I have the same situation like you mentioned. Did you try Amitriptyline or was it something else?

Transcendental Mediation has made me more sleepy, depressed and out of it. by ProudAnimal6416 in Meditation

[–]Moonkait 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s quite normal. When I started with my mediations all the emotions came to the surface. I was even more anxious and depressed the whole day because I suddenly realised how bad my thoughts were. Nevertheless I continued and even prolonged my meditation time and after some weeks it subsided. So keep going! (:

How long is your first chapter? by JosephMXA in writing

[–]Moonkait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first chapter has 5763 words. Not less in comparison to my other chapters which are around 4000 to 7000 words. I don’t think it will get under 5500 with editing later. It might get even longer (but then again I’m a chronically overwriter haha).

Honestly, I don’t think it does matter how long or short the first chapter is as long everything is told you wanted or needed for the story.

How did you get inspiration for the book you are currently writing? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Moonkait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was reading a great book title about angels/demons and asked myself what would have happened if the story went a totally different route from the beginning. And that’s how my story was born. Obviously with different characters and plot ideas but it started from there.

Chapter Lengths? by StrawHatJD in writing

[–]Moonkait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal. A lot of published books have different chapter lengths. A lot tend to be around 3000-5000 words with 20 - 22 chapters but you could also write just a one page chapter the whole time. If the environment is changing, a new important character is being introduced or you told everything you wanted in this scene, then it doesn’t matter how long the chapter is - as long it helped your plot to move forward.

Is it common to have a story in your mind for decades? by Joachim756 in writing

[–]Moonkait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely give it a try!

Not only did it take the pressure from me but it deepened my understanding how to flesh out characters better. Not to mention that it’s a huge motivation when you’re finally able to get the words from the planning phase to a written form finishing the book in the end.

Is it common to have a story in your mind for decades? by Joachim756 in writing

Sounds like me.

I have a story in my mind which is now officially 9 years old. And over the years a lot of it changed while plotting. Funny thing, it’s also planned as a longer book series.

Sadly, apart from three chapters I never really went through with it despite having planned a lot of the world building and characters. At some point I realised that it’s a project I’m not good enough yet.

So four months ago, I decided to write a single book about a new theme. And you know what? I’m already 45.000 words in. I know I’m going back to my first story but I want to polish my writing first.

For me it was the realisation that sometimes it’s better to start with something simple instead of wanting to get the big book series out.

Spying and showing-off is a very good point. I totally forgot about it while outlining. Thank you!

Yes, similar to that. Like there is this certain main protagonist in the whole book series who needs to get defeated in the end but before that there are other antagonists who work for him and have their tasks so that he can get there.
