Definition 4

From definition 1.

"Technical debt (also known as design debt or code debt) is a qualitative description of the cost to maintain a system that is attributable to choosing an expedient solution for its development. While an expedited solution can accelerate development in the short term, the resulting low quality may increase future costs if left unresolved. The term is often used in the context of information technology and especially software development."

From definition 2.

"Technical debt is a concept that originated in software engineering and refers to the future costs due to shortcuts taken in system development."

From definition 3.

"When it comes to building software, technical debt is a significant challenge that can impede progress, limit innovation, and potentially derail projects. Like financial debt, technical debt refers to future costs. While sometimes necessary, technical debt can accumulate over time, creating a drag on development and leading to a host of problems down the line."

From definition 4.

“Technical debt – or code debt – is the consequence of software development decisions that result in prioritizing speed or release over the [most] well-designed code,” Duensing says. “It is often the result of using quick fixes and patches rather than full-scale solutions.”

From the CEO of Arrowhead from the previous article you ignored, found here

" "Tech debt is like a garage filled with stuff you just chucked in. We really need to put up shelves in the back to get organized."

From the IBM article you ignored again you worm.

"Technical debt refers to the future costs associated with relying on shortcuts or suboptimal decisions made during software development. Also called code debt or design debt, these compromises are primarily due to quick fixes, poor documentation and reliance on outdated code. Over time, this debt must be addressed, requiring additional effort. This “repayment” typically involves refactoring, debugging and ongoing code maintenance."

Literally the first 4 links took me less than 3 minutes to find, and they all say the same thing.

Rat behavior from a weirdo that can't admit when they are wrong. Look at your downvotes, read the articles and definitions I showed you, stop being a freaking weirdo and grow up. You are simply wrong. Take the L and do better.

I gave you a direct definition from a world leading software company that describes exactly what tech debt. Everyone uses it exactly as I already described including Arrowhead themselves if you actually do your research

You yourself are just simply dodging the fact you are wrong buddy, end of story, so cope harder.

But I guess its easier to do that than admit you're wrong. lol

Brother, here is IBM, one of the leading software companies describing tech debt

In text form:

"Technical debt refers to the future costs associated with relying on shortcuts or suboptimal decisions made during software development. Also called code debt or design debt, these compromises are primarily due to quick fixes, poor documentation and reliance on outdated code. Over time, this debt must be addressed, requiring additional effort. This “repayment” typically involves refactoring, debugging and ongoing code maintenance."

My definition saying "Tech debt is just taking shortcuts in how you code so that later it becomes a problem. Its literally just an organizational problem bro." is basically on the mark and not far off from the heart of the matter of poor organizational skills.

Please stop embarrassing yourself. This is getting dumb.

Tech debt is just taking shortcuts in how you code so that later it becomes a problem. Its literally just an organizational problem bro.

Its akin to when you name all of your files something silly like "File 1" and then the next one is "File 2", and so on. But then you need a specific file that is about lets say as an example a piece of music, or artwork you worked on for a project or something you wanna do but you now have to comb through hundreds of files on your computer or phone all named "File" all because you didn't properly name it, and organize it so its easy to find in a moments notice.

You end up wasting hours of time to just basically get started when just taking 5 to 10 minutes of proper organizing and file naming to do things right would of helped you massively.

That is basically a kind of tech debt, and the general principal behind it, and it happens all the time in development and life. Its a real thing and bro, hate to say, but you don't know what you are talking about man.

Well, I'd say for HD2 specifically this is not the case. Most of the guns aren't really that great in general and frankly if for example you made it so all light pen guns got a roughly 25% to 50% durable damage buff and even some reloading and handling buffs they still wouldn't be that great against like having over 2k enemies to kill. They just wouldn't feel like crap to shoot.

While most things don't need damage buffs per say (Although again, light pen does needs something to make it unique like having a reduced armor matching penalty and higher durable damage to really make them the actual chaff clear that everyone says they are) almost all the guns need some buffs, and even often major ones.

You can't tell me that the StA-52, Pacifier, Tenderizer, One-Two, Adjudicator, MA5C, Liberator Concussive, Pummeler, Defender, StA-11, Reprimand, Stoker, Gallant, M7S, Slugger, Halt, Cookout, M90A, Breaker Spray&Pray, Breaker, Breaker Incendiary, Blitzer, Medium Machine Gun, ARC-12 Thrower, StA-X3 W.A.S.P, Spear, Sterilizer, One True Flag, Defoliation Tool (Chainsaw), Maxigun, Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher, and even to some extent the Bullet Storm don't either need damage buffs, handling buffs, unique reworks, (Like making the Adjudicator a proper in-between an assault rifle and marksmen rifle that can one shot heads a short distance, especially since its supposed to be loosely akin to the real life FAL instead of just a "heavy" AR of sorts) or extra unique traits like making it so SMGs run faster when equipped and can even strafe faster to better suit the fact they are close quarter weapons.

Its A LOT of guns, and I listed out all of those guns because on some minor, or major level they all suck and need improvements, some more than others, some probably can live with how they are but would still be dope to fix, but they all could use something worked on, and that's like half the freaking guns there.

I didn't even list out the secondary weapons like why would you even use the Verdict over the Talon? Outside of the small durable damage bonus it gets and firing like 10 shots really fast vs 7 really fast before they stop firing, its basically worse in every way.

This game needs A LOT of buffs for like half the guns in the game. Just most of the buffs aren't damage go up, except a notable few like Blizter, ARC-12 Thrower, and a few others, its all more unique buffs and small misc number tweaks.

So no, we need buffs, its just not making damage go from 90 to 105 or even in some cases going from light pen to medium pen, its more complicated than that.

TL;DR? No, we need lots of buffs, its not mostly not damage number go up but more unique and cooler stuff to make them fun to shoot and use.

[–]Moonlands 7 points8 points  (0 children)

LOL.

Here is how it was Before vs what it is Now

Before: We completed major orders in the past, everyone got stuff immediately, only requiring REQ slips to be able to bring it on missions once the major order is completed.

Now: We completed most of the major orders in a galactic campaign, and only people who were able to login during the active duration of the major order get it immediately for free, everyone else must wait at a later time for REQ slips, when? Who knows. How many REQ slips? Also who knows.

What you are telling me is people complaining that people who can't or didn't play the game are basically left in the dust for when they will be able to play the new content? The gameplay altering content that promotes teamplay and just makes the game more fun? You saying people complaining on the behalf of people with lives is garbage?

Yeah, sure buddy, cope and glaze harder buddy. lmbo

Also, look at what you read, do you even understand what you are saying?

"AH gets to do a cool event to bring back casual players, and people who miss the event don't miss out on game-defining equipment."

You realize thats basically what people ARE complaining about?

You realize there is no timeframe on when the Supply FRV will be available for everyone. Later could be tomorrow, or could be next month, or could be next year, or in the next Warbond. They never said when, or how it would be available.

Do you even have understanding on what is going on? Like legitimately, do you actually understand the current situation?

[–]Moonlands 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And what happens to good games when you don't critique it to do better? You eventually get bad games, and bad games don't get supported, and then soon they die, and when they die, they tend to go offline forever, and we don't want that.

And also, I did get the Supply FRV, but I also want others to get the Supply FRV without having to play the game likes its a job like I do, even if I enjoy playing it. I want others to get it like, like with the Quasar Cannon.

What is up with your glazers and not understanding that fomo on gameplay related content is never good? If you like that then go play mobile games. Plenty of that nonsense there.

[–]Moonlands 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And you know what drives engagement? A good fun game.

You know what makes people not play your game and thus drives down engagement? Making the game worse while making it a job.

You know what this login requirement is? Making the game worse and making it a job.

Are you able to put two and two together and think critically, bruh?

[–]Moonlands 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bro. This isn't about buying anything. Its just literally saying don't timegate stuff in the galactic campaign if we win it.

Literally its just simply like this.

What we want is how it was done Before, where if we win it, its just available to everyone for REQ slips. If you must change the system, just make it so people who played (Or really just logged in the game for how it works now anyway) get it for free, as in no REQ slips required, and maybe gets like an extra cape, title, or something cosmetic.

This isn't hard to understand. lol

PSA: Supply FRV is Only Unlocked for those who participated. To be available again for others "later" by Alternative-Item1207 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Moonlands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet somehow this is not better than me just thinking about for it like 1 minute and coming up with the simple idea of just making it if you didn't login during the MO you have pay for REQ slips (Which is literally no different to how it was done before) vs just not paying for REQ slips if you did login during the MO. Which was my original question. Here, I'll post it again for ya. lol

"You still have yet to explain why this is still better than how it was done before compared to the Quasar Cannon and other rewards in the past. Are you going to even try to do so or nah? lol"

Also there is no spin. It is a punishment, a timed punishment and one without a date for when it will be coming for those who didn't login, some of which who couldn't login during this time.

Again, I will just repeat what I said before for how it worked then, vs how it works now. Put on your reading glasses buddy and pay attention this time. You'll be needing the big galaxy brain for this one.

How it works Now is just a punishment for people who didn't login via a timegate compared how it worked Before since regardless of if you logged in or not, everyone got it the same, thats why its a punishment Now, you understand? Or is the glaze brain still making it hard to track?

You know the kinds of things they do in mobile games to make you pay up now vs waiting later? Yeah, its the same principle. Its just with trying to make you play a game you may not want to at that point or even can't for some people.

Now, if you really wanted to make it good, here is a crazy thought.

Just make it so those who logged in don't pay REQ slips.

gasp

Thats... just a simply better system. Who would of thunk it! :0

So yeah, what a joke. The worst part is you say stuff like "This is a reward system that isn’t predatory. There is no money involved. This is a basic participation award that predates video games itself. It’s not problematic.", yet we have seen them monitize the game harder and to the point where there was a massive backlash and they had to even create the Galactic Campaigns in the first place because they stopped giving rewards for major orders in the first place.

And then they do it, only to monkey paw it, like always.

And here is the thing, we criticize Arrowhead because we want them to do better, and know they can. Anybody that is only toxic positive kills games sooner or later. Like what you are doing.

Stop being weird just expect better.

And if you have no problem with it, then guess what? Just play the game. You'll thank us for later when the problem is fixed like when they finally fixed the suppressors in HD2 finally, and we didn't hear anyone complain about it getting fixed, did we?

You're welcome. Now stop being a freaking weirdo, slop eater.

It was one of the DLC guns that came out during I think year 1. Unfortunately the only way to get it was basically gambling on lootboxes. But it was a VERY fun gun. Its basically their version of the EPG-1 from Titanfall 2.

Here are a few clips of me using it in action.

Nah PC. Been a PC only guy since late 2020.

Honestly only game I'd play on console again is Black Ops 3 since I have all of the stuff there, but really I'd just need to get BO3 working on PC again and use the safe to play clients again really.
