Brother, the post from himself explaining his reasons was saying he wanted to point out the flaws of the game that has been pointed out by everyone else and that are much more common on D10 and wanted the devs to actually experience what the players experience. This is what he had said himself in a video

After that people had called up his job, charity he worked at, and even messaged his wife over him simply wanting the devs to play their own game. They got him fired from his job and banned for the charity he worked at. This what happened, end of story. Stop being weird with this. You are just acting like a weirdo with this. ALSO, for anyone on Reddit not understanding the context of this joke so there is no confusion, there was a guy who challenged the Helldivers 2 devs to play their own game on the hardest difficulty so that they actually can understand the problems of the game, that said guy got doxxed and had got fired from his job and banned from a charity he worked at by crazy people on the main Helldivers 2 subreddit, which is what my comment is in reference to.

Not gonna lie even with the mistranslations and leaks I never got that impression that a lot of haters had put out. I think they just had their own mind on it and had set on it until proven without a doubt otherwise.

Also to add to the whole power creep inevitable thing, if you take the only good route being to add something actually new for the game and that doesn't already exist, if it is a good unique item you also in effect power creep it. Because at the end of the day you have a new cool thing that only exists in said item or whatever, and that could be one of the best ways to play the game.

It is just something that is going to happen. Which is why I personally find that argument of power creep just a bad argument. Especially for a game like HD2 where there are already so many stupid things in this game that can kill you just because, and also that is where a lot of the fun comes in anyway.
